Parameter	Description
Procedure	Includes a list of categories associated with the procedure site in the Reason field. The list also displays the selected procedure in the Procedure Types option. To change the procedure, you can select the Procedure Types option. The Procedure Types option includes a list of procedures configured for the selected procedure site in the Reason field. The newly selected procedure appears in the Procedure Types option.
Indications	Displays a list of pretexts to concatenate with the indications. After you select a pretext, a list of indications appears.

Add Procedure Details in Ambulatory Surgery

In Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), you can add the procedure details of a patient and the added procedures form the reasons for the patient visit. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Home Page template, and then in Specialty, select Ambulatory Surgery and in the Visit Type, select Procedure. To open the ASC - Intake template, select Intake. Expand the Procedure panel, and then select the applicable procedures. Note: The added procedures in the Procedure panel appear in the Reason for Visit panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure template. But, if you update any existing procedures in the panel, then a new record is added in the Reason for Visit panel. Select the Physician Proc tab. The ASC - Physician Procedure template opens, displaying the same procedures added in the Procedure panel in the Reason for Visit panel. Note: When you remove any reason for visit from the Reason for Visit panel, the reason is removed from the panel, but not from the Procedure panel. The procedures in the

Add Ambulatory Surgery Procedures

You can add a procedure name and link a procedure site to each procedure. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the ASC Procedure Config practice template and expand the Procedure Setup panel. Procedure Setup panel on the ASC Procedure Config template Select Procedure name, and select a procedure from the list. The list includes the procedure names available in the grid. Optional: To add a procedure, select Cancel on the list, and then enter a new procedure in Procedure name. Select Site, and select a procedure site from the list. The list includes the procedure sites available in the grid. Optional: To add a procedure site, select Cancel on the list, and then enter a new procedure site in Site. Select the status of the procedure. Note: The configured procedure in the Procedure Setup panel is available for selection in the Procedure panel in the runtime Ambulatory Surgery framework templates. Add HPI Reasons for Ambulatory Surgery

You can add an History of Present Illness (HPI) reason for ambulatory surgery. The HPI reason represent the different procedures for the specialty. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the ASC Procedure Config practice template and expand the Configure Procedure Indications panel. Configure Procedure Indications panel Note: The Chief complaint section is not applicable for the ambulatory surgery specialty. Enter a reason for the HPI. Enter the provider for the reason for visit.The new reason is saved when a new section is added for that reason. Create Findings for HPI Reasons

You can create findings for the created History of Present Illness (HPI) reasons in the Configure Procedure Indications panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the ASC Procedure Config practice template and expand the Configure Procedure Indications panel. Select a reason. Select the applicable section from the Sections grid. The standard selection type record appears in the Findings grid. Select Selection type and select a value from the list. Figure 1. . HPI Selection Type Select Parameter, select a value. Note: The only selection type that does not have a parameter is standard selection. Enter a caption for the finding and then enter the details. In Finding Type, select an item from the list. Note: The Sentence field and the Edit/Create new sentence link are not applicable for the ambulatory surgery specialty. Link Procedures to HPI Reasons

You can create a link between the ambulatory surgery procedures and the configured History of Present Illness (HPI) reason. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the ASC Procedure Config practice template and expand the Procedure HPIs panel. Procedure HPIs Panel Select an HPI Reason that is already configured in the Configure Procedure Indications panel. Select a procedure site from the list. In Procedure HPIs, select the following: Procedure Category Section Procedure Type Section Procedure Pretext Section Procedure Indication SectionProcedure HPI Sections List The list includes section names, section types, and group numbers to identify the content you want to display in the runtime Procedure indication template after the procedure site and HPI reason are linked. Select Add/Update. The linked configuration between the procedure details and the HPI reason uploads to the grid. Note: You can update or remove a procedure HPI record from the grid. Add Sections for HPI Reasons

You can create sections for an ambulatory surgery History of Present Illness (HPI) reason. The sections are based on the reason and provider. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the ASC Procedure Config practice template and expand the Configure Procedure Indications panel. In Sections, enter Procedure or Indications in Section Name for ambulatory surgery. In Parameter, enter Single for the ambulatory surgery specialty. Note: Parameter defines the number and type of grid used to display the content. In EM Coding Element, select an option from the list.NextGen® Enterprise EHR attaches the coding element to Section and automatically fills the EM Coding Description field. To indicate the sequence of the section, in Paragraph, select an option from the list and then select Add.The content is added to the grid in the ASC Procedure Config template.
