You can find general and virtual visit workflows in the Intake and Histories template. A general visit consists of office and virtual visits. Note: The instructions provided for office visit in the following sections are also applicable for virtual visits. The general office and virtual visit workflow includes the following: Intake staff workflow provides instructions for nurses or medical assistants on how to use the Intake and Histories templates to document the reasons for visit, medication, allergies, social history, and so on. Provider workflow provides instructions for physicians on how to use the SOAP and Finalize templates to document assessment and physical exam details, generate evaluation, management codes, and so on. Provider Workflow

You can review the patient's medical summary details on the Home Page template and then proceed to the SOAP Plan Finalize templates. The provider workflow involves: Reviewing the data documented up to this point in the encounter to obtain an overview of the patient's condition as well as updating and providing additional information as needed Documenting the presenting problem(s) and various physical exam findings Documenting the procedures performed Creating a treatment plan Documenting Evaluation and Management (E & M) codes Patient Tracking in the Provider Workflow You can update the patient tracking details using the Patient Tracking on the Patient Information Card (PIC). The Orthopedics User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine provides an explanation and instructions on how to use the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine for Orthopedic office and virtual visit encounters, document physical exams, fracture care, and pre-operative and post-operative visits specifically for an Orthopedic patient. Patient Encounter Documentation

You can use NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates to document patient encounters on the visit types associated with the specialties available. The standard office and virtual visit workflow are documented on the following templates: Intake Histories SOAP Finalize Checkout Note: The workflow may vary with some specialties such as ophthalmology, cardiology, and obstetrics.
