Configure Orders for Specific Medication Guidelines

You can configure an order for the created guideline to be triggered for the specific medication. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guidelines Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guidelines Setup template opens. In the Intervention/Order Setup panel, select Medication for Reason type. In Condition/Reason, select the created guideline reason. In Intervention/Test type, select instructions. Enter an intervention or test name, and then select a standard interval for the guideline. Select Add. Select Save & Close.The guideline reason and order are saved, and the Care Guidelines Setup template closes. Set Up Specific Medications

You can set up specific medications for a patient under care using the Care Guidelines Setup template. You can configure a specific medication to trigger a care guideline by setting up the Reason Group and Medication fields. The other fields are optional. Note: For medication, if you add more fields, the system filters the data to a greater specificity. The guideline is triggered when all of these values match. Only active medications trigger a guideline initially. If the medication is discontinued, the guideline exists until it is manually turned off on the Care Guidelines template. Creating Guidelines for Specific Medications

You can create a guideline for a specific medication and set it to automatically apply to a patient's chart when the parameters are met. If you do not configure the guideline to automatically apply, the guideline can be applied manually by using the Add or Update option in the Care Guidelines Paged View template. To create a medication guideline, you can create a test patient before opening the Care Guidelines Setup template. Open the Medication Specific Template You can set up specific medications for a patient chart in the Medication Specific template. Add Diagnosis Groups

You can add diagnosis from the Diagnosis Group link in the Medication Specific template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guidelines Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guidelines Setup template opens. Expand the Manage Groups and Options panel. Select the Medication (Specific) link.The Medication Specific template opens. In the Medication Specific template, select Diagnosis Group. Expand the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel, and then in the Add Diagnosis Group section, enter a new diagnosis group name and description. Select a system to associate with the diagnosis group from Reference System. Optional: If available, enter a URL in Reference website or Order set website. Reuse Practice Configuration Template

Before you begin To view medication specific details in the Care Guidelines template, you need to add a problem and medication details for the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Practice Configuration, and then select OK.The Practice Configuration template opens. Under Master Files > System, select EHR. For Care Guidelines Select Care Guidelines Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guidelines Setup template opens. Expand the Manage Groups and Options panel. Select the Medication (Specific) link.The Medication Specific template opens. Select Add. Select Save & Close.The guideline reason and order are saved, and the Care Guidelines Setup template closes. View Medication Specific Details in the Care Guidelines Paged View Template

You can view the medication specific details in the Care Guidelines Paged View template. Before you begin You must configure an order for the created medication guideline, and add a problem and the medication details to view the medication specific details in the Care Guidelines Paged Viewtemplate. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select Open Template for an encounter.The Select Template window opens. Select All, and then select Care Guidelines Paged View. Care Guidelines Paged View template The configured medication details appear. Select Refresh if the configured medication details are not available.The details configured in the Medications module must match the values in the Medication Specific template for the guidelines to appear in the Care Guidelines Paged View template.
