Documentation Log Panel on the ASC - Intraprocedure Template

The Documentation Log panel displays the procedure details documented on the ASC - Preprocedure template. The nurse or clinical staff can add a follow-up entry to the existing procedure details in the grid, and/or add procedure details. Document Equipment Details on the Intra-Procedure Template

On the ASC - IntraProcedure template, go to the Equipment panel and select the Add button to open the ASC Equipment template.The Procedure field defaults with the value of the Procedure field on the ASC-Intraprocedure template. To select a different procedure, do one of the following: Select the Procedure field and select a procedure from the list. Select the left blue arrow or right blue arrow to go to the previous or next procedure respectively. Note: The Procedure field displays procedures previously documented in the Procedure panel. Select a value for Equipment Type from the pane. The short description of the equipment type appears as a navigation tab above left pane. The ASC Equipment template is configured on the Equipment Log practice template. Update the Equipment Details

Select the row to be edited from the grid in the Equipment Log panel. Select Edit.The ASC Equipment template opens. The selections display in the left panes and right grid of the template. Select the applicable value for additional details on the equipment. If you want to clear a selected value, re-select that value. Select Save & Close.The modifications update in the grid. To remove an entry from the Equipment panel, highlight a row in the grid and select Remove. The Refresh button is used to refresh the grid to display the equipment details entered from a different workstation. If you want to save the documented values as the default set for the future in the template, select the Quick Save button and enter a default set name for the template. The default name appears in the list from the Quick Load button. Findings Panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure Template

The Findings panel allows you to document additional findings associated with a procedure. The findings are configured on the Procedure Documentation Config practice template. For more information on configuration of procedure findings, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Procedure Documentation Config Practice Template User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Note: The additional findings documented in this panel do not display in the Documentation panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure template and vice versa. To document additional findings for a procedure, you need to select a procedure in the Procedure panel. After you select a procedure(s), the Findings panel displays the first procedure in the Reason for Visit section. The Reason for Visit section includes the left and right arrows to go to the previous and next procedure. IV Panel on the ASC - Preprocedure Template

During the procedure a patient is usually administered anesthesia or other medication through an IV. The nurse or medical assistant inserts an IV into the patient and administers an IV bag containing a solution. A single IV bag usually provides the needed amount of solution throughout the course of the procedure. However, there are instances where multiple IV bags are required. The nurse or medical assistant needs the ability to document the additional IV bags of solution provided to the patient. The IV panel allows you to administer IV and to document multiple IV fluid bags used during a single procedure. The IV panel includes two different entry categories: IV Insertion/Removal and IV fluids. The Insertion/Removal option is selected by default. Initiate Documentation

The Initiate Documentation button on the Procedure Orders panel adds the documented procedure details to the Documentation Log panel on the ASC - Preprocedure and ASC - Intraprocedure templates of the Procedure visit type, if the case of the encounters is identical. Note: You must map the procedure orders to the entry type, category, and description in the Procedure Orders and Discharge Instructions practice template.
