The Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template supports ICD-10 codes for default diagnosis codes in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine framework. It consolidates diagnosis code functionality to one location and provides consistency in the way templates access diagnosis codes. This requires retiring and modifying templates, the removal of all hard-coded ICD-9 codes from the existing templates and moving the functionality to the practice template. For example, as part of updating Common Assessments for the ICD-10 conversion project, the diagnosis types within the Pediatric framework have been migrated into the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template. It provides you with a quick and easy access to configure their systems, and makes annual code updates easier. The actual codes are in File Maintenance. The Manage Dx Groups/Problem Groups/Reference Systems link on the Assessment Plan Customization template is used to customize diagnosis groups, problem groups and reference systems. Access the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems Practice Template

You can access the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template to configure and manage the reference systems. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System/Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Dx Groups, Problem Groups, and Reference Systems

The Dx Groups/Problem Groups/Reference Systems tab has the following panels: You can configure the patient's diagnosis groups and codes on the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. You can configure the patient's reference systems and sets on the Manage Reference Systems panel. You can configure the patient's problem groups on the Problem Groups Configuration panel. Managing Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups, and Codes Managing Reference Systems Configure Problem Groups You can add, update, or remove a problem group in the Problem Group panel on the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems template. Add Diagnosis Groups and Codes List

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. Enter a new diagnosis group name, and then enter the description of the new category. Manage reference systems, diagnosis groups and codes panel displaying the fields to add a diagnosis group Select a reference system from the list.The list includes reference systems created in the Manage Reference Systems section. Optional: Enter a reference website or order set website. Note: The Restrict Code checkbox for code restrictions is set up in the Manage Reference Systems panel, and cannot be changed in the Add Diagnosis Group section. Data Sets Setup

The Data Sets Setup practice template enables you to create picklist values, enables the customization of medications used within a specialty or template, updates the stored procedure that returns values for the last completed date, and so on. On the Data Sets Setup template, the Data Set field displays a list of data sets. The Info box provides a description of the selected data set. The grid displays the data set items associated with the selected data set. It includes the items packaged with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine and the items that are added by the client. You can add, edit, or remove the data sets items using this template. The Manage Dx Groups/Problem Groups/Reference Systems link points you to the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems template.
