Configuring Systems, Diagnosis Groups, Problem Groups, and Codes

The Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template supports ICD-10 codes for default diagnosis codes in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine framework. It consolidates diagnosis code functionality to one location and provides consistency in the way templates access diagnosis codes. This requires retiring and modifying templates, the removal of all hard-coded ICD-9 codes from the existing templates and moving the functionality to the practice template. For example, as part of updating Common Assessments for the ICD-10 conversion project, the diagnosis types within the Pediatric framework have been migrated into the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template. It provides you with a quick and easy access to configure their systems, and makes annual code updates easier. The actual codes are in File Maintenance. Managing Diagnosis Groups, Problem Groups and Reference Systems

The Manage Dx Groups/Problem Groups/Reference Systems link on the Assessment Plan Customization template is used to customize diagnosis groups, problem groups and reference systems. Add Diagnosis Groups

You can add diagnosis from the Diagnosis Group link in the Medication Specific template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guidelines Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guidelines Setup template opens. Expand the Manage Groups and Options panel. Select the Medication (Specific) link.The Medication Specific template opens. In the Medication Specific template, select Diagnosis Group. Expand the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel, and then in the Add Diagnosis Group section, enter a new diagnosis group name and description. Select a system to associate with the diagnosis group from Reference System. Optional: If available, enter a URL in Reference website or Order set website. Create a New Order Set

The My Plan templates display all order sets that are available in the system, including those that are shipped with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The order sets can be based on a diagnosis group, provider, or specialty (department). On the Assessment Plan Customization template, choose a Display option to filter the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section by the Current provider or All providers. In the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section, right-click and select Add New. Assessment and Plan Customization window The Provider's Custom Plan template opens. Depending on how you want to set up the order set, select the Diagnosis Group, Provider, and/or Dept fields to select a value from the resulting list.
