Diagnosis Groups and Code Lists

The fields in the relational gray box at the top of the panel populate in the Add Diagnosis Group grid upon Add/Update. On selection, if the Diagnosis Group field has a duplicate value in the grid, an alert displays. Note: You cannot update a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine packaged diagnosis group. You have to select a unique group name and save again. The Clear button removes the data from all of the fields above and removes the highlight from the grid row. There are two view options for the grid: View all diagnosis groups View only diagnosis groups created or modified today. You can also filter by Reference System or by selecting All, Active, or Inactive in the Show field. The Add Diagnosis Group includes the following columns: Diagnosis Group - required field Description Reference System - required field Restrict Code - activated for groups that have a maximum of one ICD-9 and one ICD-10 code and are used to default a diagnosis code to an order Active - if active, YES is displayed

Edit an Existing Diagnosis Group

Select a group from the Diagnosis Group grid. You cannot update a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine packaged diagnosis group. Edit the fields. The Reference System is mandatory. Note: The Restrict Code check box for code restrictions is set in the Manage Reference Systems panel and cannot be changed in the Add Diagnosis Group section. Review the list of existing codes in the Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group grid. To add a new code, select any of the codes option in the Type field. Enter a description or code in the Description or Code fields or you can search with both description and code. Select Search. Use the arrows to move the codes from the left to the right grid. The Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel enables you to add, edit, and update the reference systems, diagnosis groups, and codes. It is divided into two sections: Add Diagnosis Group - for the management of groups (add, update, activate or inactivate) Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group - reveals if the group is for the ICD-9 or ICD-10 code set; works from a highlighted row in the Add Diagnosis Group grid Diagnosis Groups and Code Lists Add Diagnosis Groups and Codes List You can create diagnosis groups for a reference system, and add diagnoses codes to a diagnosis group. Add Reference Systems

You can create logical groupings of related diagnosis codes in reference systems. For example, the Order Sets reference system contains groups used in the custom impression plan, that is, the Common Dx Framework reference system. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. Expand the Manage Reference System panel, and then enter a reference system and description. Select a reference system set from the list. Note: Reference system set is applicable only for orders sets. Edit Existing References

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. In the Manage Reference System panel, select a reference system from the grid.The fields are dautomatically filled with the selected reference system information. Add Diagnosis Groups

You can add diagnosis from the Diagnosis Group link in the Medication Specific template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guidelines Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guidelines Setup template opens. Expand the Manage Groups and Options panel. Select the Medication (Specific) link.The Medication Specific template opens. In the Medication Specific template, select Diagnosis Group. Expand the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel, and then in the Add Diagnosis Group section, enter a new diagnosis group name and description. Select a system to associate with the diagnosis group from Reference System. Optional: If available, enter a URL in Reference website or Order set website.
