Diagnosis Groups and Code Lists

The fields in the relational gray box at the top of the panel populate in the Add Diagnosis Group grid upon Add/Update. On selection, if the Diagnosis Group field has a duplicate value in the grid, an alert displays. Note: You cannot update a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine packaged diagnosis group. You have to select a unique group name and save again. The Clear button removes the data from all of the fields above and removes the highlight from the grid row. There are two view options for the grid: View all diagnosis groups View only diagnosis groups created or modified today. You can also filter by Reference System or by selecting All, Active, or Inactive in the Show field. The Add Diagnosis Group includes the following columns: Diagnosis Group - required field Description Reference System - required field Restrict Code - activated for groups that have a maximum of one ICD-9 and one ICD-10 code and are used to default a diagnosis code to an order Active - if active, YES is displayed

Add Diagnosis Groups and Codes List

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. Enter a new diagnosis group name, and then enter the description of the new category. Manage reference systems, diagnosis groups and codes panel displaying the fields to add a diagnosis group Select a reference system from the list.The list includes reference systems created in the Manage Reference Systems section. Optional: Enter a reference website or order set website. Note: The Restrict Code checkbox for code restrictions is set up in the Manage Reference Systems panel, and cannot be changed in the Add Diagnosis Group section. Developer, Funding Source, and Reference Updated support clinical decisions. Reference Updated is automatically- filled with the current date when a new reference is added. Managing Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups, and Codes

The Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel enables you to add, edit, and update the reference systems, diagnosis groups, and codes. It is divided into two sections: Add Diagnosis Group - for the management of groups (add, update, activate or inactivate) Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group - reveals if the group is for the ICD-9 or ICD-10 code set; works from a highlighted row in the Add Diagnosis Group grid Diagnosis Groups and Code Lists Add Diagnosis Groups and Codes List You can create diagnosis groups for a reference system, and add diagnoses codes to a diagnosis group. Update an Existing Procedure Group

The Manage Procedure Groups and Codes practice template grid is filled with default content for the applied version associated with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. You cannot remove any procedure groups that exist in the pre-packaged content. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Manage Procedure Groups and Codes practice template. Select the existing Procedure Group from the grid. In the Add Procedure Group section, type the name of the Procedure Group that is different from the existing name and the Description without selecting the Restrict Code check box. Do one of the following actions: Click Clear to remove the data without saving. Click Add/Update to enter the new values into the grid. Click Save from the toolbar. Click Close from the toolbar to return to your regular workflow. Note: You may also add or remove codes or service categories to existing procedure groups. Assign Diagnosis Codes to a Diagnosis Group

You can assign diagnosis codes to existing diagnosis groups, which are used on medical record templates for documenting patient's assessment. The active diagnosis codes configured in the diagnosis code library of File Maintenance can be assigned to the diagnosis groups available on the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template. For more information on configuring diagnosis code library, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest File Maintenance Libraries Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. Note: By default, all active diagnosis groups are displayed in the grid of the Add Diagnosis Group section. You can filter the values in the grid by selecting the View Dx groups created/modified today option or entering the desired value in the Show field. Manage Diagnosis Groups

You can update, deactivate, or delete a diagnosis group and copy an existing diagnosis group to create another group. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. Note: By default, all active diagnosis groups are displayed in the grid of the Add Diagnosis Group section. You can filter the values in the grid by selecting the View Dx groups created/modified today option or entering the desired value in the Show field. Select the desired diagnosis group from the grid of the Add Diagnosis Group section. The results are as follows: The details of the selected diagnosis group are filled in their corresponding fields of the Add Diagnosis Group section. If you select an inactive diagnosis group, the Delete button appears in the Add Diagnosis Group section.
