Configuring Systems, Diagnosis Groups, Problem Groups, and Codes

The Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template supports ICD-10 codes for default diagnosis codes in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine framework. It consolidates diagnosis code functionality to one location and provides consistency in the way templates access diagnosis codes. This requires retiring and modifying templates, the removal of all hard-coded ICD-9 codes from the existing templates and moving the functionality to the practice template. For example, as part of updating Common Assessments for the ICD-10 conversion project, the diagnosis types within the Pediatric framework have been migrated into the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template. It provides you with a quick and easy access to configure their systems, and makes annual code updates easier. The actual codes are in File Maintenance. Edit Existing References

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. In the Manage Reference System panel, select a reference system from the grid.The fields are dautomatically filled with the selected reference system information. Manage Reference systems panel Edit the necessary details, select the Restrict Code checkbox, and then select Add/Update. Add Diagnosis Groups and Codes List

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. Enter a new diagnosis group name, and then enter the description of the new category. Manage reference systems, diagnosis groups and codes panel displaying the fields to add a diagnosis group Select a reference system from the list.The list includes reference systems created in the Manage Reference Systems section. Optional: Enter a reference website or order set website. Note: The Restrict Code checkbox for code restrictions is set up in the Manage Reference Systems panel, and cannot be changed in the Add Diagnosis Group section. Developer, Funding Source, and Reference Updated support clinical decisions. Reference Updated is automatically- filled with the current date when a new reference is added. Dx Groups Reference Systems Practice Template Online Help

The Dx Groups Reference Systems practice template supports ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes for default diagnosis codes in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine framework. Restore Removed Problem Groups

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. Expand the Problem Groups Configuration panel, and select the Removed/ Deleted records only option. Probelm group configuration window allowing users to restore the removed records by selecting the removed records option Select the item from the grid, and then select Add.The problem group is restored.
