Configure Problem Groups
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. Expand the Problem Groups Configuration panel, and then select or enter the problem group, and then select the description from the list.Snomed Code is automatically filled. Problem groups configuration panel Enter comments, and then select Add. Optional: To update a problem group, select the problem group, make the changes, and then select Update. Managing Reference Systems
Creating a group is only beneficial if it is associated to a reference system, for example, order sets. A reference system is the logical grouping of diagnosis codes. The packaged reference systems are locked down to prevent breaking the system by removing crucial data. In the Add Reference Systems section, fields are available to add new reference systems. If a new reference system is created, the system must account for existing code restrictions based on the reference system. When the Restrict Code check box is selected, the restriction takes effect and allows only one ICD-9 and 10 code. Information text displays as follows: "These categories have a maximum of 1 ICD-9 code and 1 ICD-10 code and are used to default a diagnosis code to an order." This panel enables you to add, edit, and update a reference systems. Dx Groups, Problem Groups, and Reference Systems
The Dx Groups/Problem Groups/Reference Systems tab has the following panels: You can configure the patient's diagnosis groups and codes on the Manage Reference Systems, Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. You can configure the patient's reference systems and sets on the Manage Reference Systems panel. You can configure the patient's problem groups on the Problem Groups Configuration panel. Access the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems Practice Template
You can access the Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems practice template to configure and manage the reference systems. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System/Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Edit Existing References
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. In the Manage Reference System panel, select a reference system from the grid.The fields are dautomatically filled with the selected reference system information. Manage Reference systems panel Edit the necessary details, select the Restrict Code checkbox, and then select Add/Update. Add Diagnosis Groups and Codes List
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Dx Problem Groups Reference Systems, and then select OK. Enter a new diagnosis group name, and then enter the description of the new category. Manage reference systems, diagnosis groups and codes panel displaying the fields to add a diagnosis group Select a reference system from the list.The list includes reference systems created in the Manage Reference Systems section. Optional: Enter a reference website or order set website. Note: The Restrict Code checkbox for code restrictions is set up in the Manage Reference Systems panel, and cannot be changed in the Add Diagnosis Group section. Developer, Funding Source, and Reference Updated support clinical decisions. Reference Updated is automatically- filled with the current date when a new reference is added.
