Components of the Prenatal Detail - Obstetrics Template

You can document the necessary information about the prenatal details. You can document the necessary information about prenatal encounters and review data from previous encounters to ensure safe and effective care for a pregnant woman and her baby on the Prenatal Detail - Obstetrics template. The following panels allows you to document the necessary information during a prenatal visit: General OB Problems Prenatal Visits Assessment/Plan Orders Diagnostic Studies The obstetric group of panels are used for orders: Initial Orders 24-28 Week Orders 32-37 Week Orders Genetic Screening and Testing Maternal Carrier Screening Fetal (Aneuploidy) Chromosomal Testing Ultrasound Orders Optional Orders You can view telephone calls and other communications outside of visits in the Communication panel. Obstetrics Home Page Template

You can review the historical information of the patient on the Home Page - Obstetrics template. The practice can customize the panels displayed on the Home Page - Obstetrics template. The following table describes the panels on the template. Panel Description General Indicates if the patient is new or an established patient for the current encounter. Problem List Lists the patient's ongoing clinical problems and chronic conditions from past encounters. Summary Displays the date, gestational age (GA), progress notes, and provider information for the patient. On the Summary panel, you can open the OB Flowsheet comments using the OB Flowsheet Progress Notes link. Allergies Lists the allergies associated with the patient. Medications Displays the patient's medications documented in the Medications module by the intake staff. Order Labs in the Prenatal Detail Tab

You can order labs in the Prenatal detail tab. Open the Prenatal Detail tab. Select the Order Labs link.The OBGYN Lab Master template opens. OBGYN Lab Master Template The OBGYN Lab Master template is part of a group of templates that use the last assessment or diagnosis selected on any of the templates in the group as the working assessment. The system defaults to the current working assessment. If required, you can select another assessment, which becomes the new working assessment that carries forward to the other templates in the group. Obstetrics Provider Workflow

You can document the provider information in the Prenatal Detail and SOAP template. The provider workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves reviewing the information documented by the intake staff and proceeding with the patient encounter by documenting information on the Prenatal Detail and SOAP templates. On the first visit, open the Gestational Age template must be opened and verify the due date. Reviewing Obstetrics Details by Providers A provider can start the visit by reviewing the patient information documented during the previous patient encounters on the Home Page template for the Obstetrics specialty. Update Obstetric Lab Order Results

You can update existing obstetric lab orders in the order management template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. Open the Prenatal Detail template, and then expand the Initial Orders panel to view the lab order details. To update the lab order results, select the Order Management link in the Prenatal Detail template.The Order Management template opens. Select the Lab orders option.The lab orders associated with the Prenatal Detail template appear in the Order Management panel. Order Management with Lab orders Select the lab order to update, and then select Edit.The Lab Order template appears. In Result details, enter or select the result value. Review Ultrasound Orders

You can review lab results for the available obstetric lab orders in the Ultrasound Orders panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. On the Prenatal Detail template, expand the Ultrasound Orders panel.The orders placed through the Diagnostic Studies panel appear in the grid. Ultrasound Orders To review a single lab order result, do the following: Select the row where the lab order result is available. The Edit Test Interval window opens. Select the Reviewed check box, and then select Save & Close. The reviewed check mark appears. To review all lab orders with results, select the Reviewed check box. The reviewed check mark appears for all orders with results. To update the order obtained interval date range, select the row and update the details on the Edit Test Interval window.
