Document Vasectomy Procedures

You can document the details of the vasectomy procedure.

1. On the SOAP template, select the Procedures link.
   The Procedures template opens.
2. In the Genitourinary section, select Vasectomy.
   The Procedure - Vasectomy template opens.

   

3. In the Indication section, do the following:
   1. Select Description, and select the diagnosis.
      The code is automatically filled.
   2. Select Status, and select the diagnosis status from the list.
4. To enter a saved default set, select Quick Load and Save.
5. In the Pre-Procedure Care section, select the appropriate check boxes after explaining the procedure details to the patient.
   Note: To add more information about the consent, select the Consent link.
6. In the Anesthetic section, select the anesthesia provided, and then enter the dosage, lot number and expiration date.
7. Select the appropriate check boxes and options related to the procedure performed.
8. To document the genitourinary exam findings, select GU Exam.
9. In the Instructions and Follow Up section, do the following:
   1. Select the appropriate post-procedure instructions for the patient.
   2. Enter the follow-up visit instructions.
   3. Select the medication options.
      If you select Yes, enter the medication information in the grid.
10. Select Save & Close.
    A window opens to confirm if a bill must be submitted for this procedure.
11. Select Yes to submit the bill, or No to save and exit.
