Document Intervention

You can document assessment, intervention, and patient education plan in the Brief Intervention panel of the SBIRT Screening template. You can also indicate if education is provided to the patient, family, or caregiver. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. SBIRT Screening Template Expand the Brief Intervention panel. Brief intervention template Enter an assessment and a diagnosis status. Note: If you document details in the SBIRT Impression/Risk section in the Screening panel, NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically fills Encounter for Screening, unspecified and Z13.9 in the Select Assessment and Code fields respectively. Document Patient Screening

You can document patient screening in the Screening panel of the SBIRT Screening template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. SBIRT Screening Template Expand the Screening panel. Screening Template Enter the details related to screening instrument, score, severity or interpretation, comments, and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Performed Date is filled automatically. Select Add. The added records appear in the Screening Tools Performed grid. To access the AUDIT, AUDIT-C, CAGE, PHQ-2, and PHQ-9 screening tools, select the corresponding links. Enter an overall SBIRT impression or risk. NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically fills Encounter for screening, unspecified and Z13.9 in the Select Assessment and Code fields respectively in the Brief Intervention panel. T

Document Pre-Screening Questions

You can document a patient's alcohol and drug use details in the Pre-Screening Questions panel on the SBIRT Screening template. Before you begin You must enable the pre-screening related questions in the SBIRT section on the Practice Configuration practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). Manage Referrals

You can view and add referrals and community resources and where the patient is referred to in the Referral to Treatment panel on SBIRT Screening template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. SBIRT Screening Template Expand the Referral to Treatment panel. Referral to treatment template In Referrals Ordered, select Today's Encounter or All. To add a referral or community resource, select the corresponding links.The corresponding template opens, and the added records appear in the respective grids. Save and close the template. Submit Charges for SBIRT Billing

You can enter billing information for a SBIRT screening session and submit the charges to Superbill in the SBIRT Billing panel of the SBIRT Screening template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. SBIRT Screening Template In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. Expand the SBIRT Billing panel. Note: NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically retrieves the assessment, code, and status details from the Brief Intervention panel. . Brief intervention template Select the duration and service item.
