Document Patient Screening

You can document patient screening in the Screening panel of the SBIRT Screening template.

1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
2. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools.
   The Screening Tools template opens.
3. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT).
   The SBIRT Screening template opens.

   

4. Expand the Screening panel.
   

5. Enter the details related to screening instrument, score, severity or interpretation, comments, and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).
   Performed Date is filled automatically.
6. Select Add.
   The added records appear in the Screening Tools Performed grid.
7. To access the AUDIT, AUDIT-C, CAGE, PHQ-2, and PHQ-9 screening tools, select the corresponding links.
8. Enter an overall SBIRT impression or risk.
   NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically fills Encounter for screening, unspecified and Z13.9 in the Select Assessment and Code fields respectively in the Brief Intervention panel.
9. To enter predefined additional comments, use My Phrases or enter details.
10. Save and close the template.
