Document an ASC Procedure

In the Documentation panel, select Add.
The ASC Procedure Documentation template opens.

The Procedure field displays the procedure entered in the Procedure panel. If more than one procedure is entered in the Procedure panel, then the Procedure field displays the first procedure documented in the current encounter.

The Procedure field includes left and right arrows. The left blue arrow is used to go to the previous procedure and the right blue arrow is used to go to the next procedure. If the current encounter includes only one procedure, then the arrows are not available.

By default, the system selects the Procedure documentation option and displays the associated sections in the left pane.
Select a section in the left pane.
The corresponding list of values appears in the grid, and the navigational tab appears above the left pane.
The sections in the left pane and the associated values in the grid are configured on the Procedure Documentation Config practice template. Select a value from the list on the right grid.
If a value in the grid is mutually exclusive, then the subsequent section in the left pane is automatically selected if configured in the Procedure Documentation Config practice template. If the right grid values provide multiple selections, then you must manually select the subsequent section in the left pane.
If the values are not appropriate for selection in the grid:
1. Select custom value, if available in the list.
  The custom value template opens.
2. Enter the appropriate value in the field and select OK.
  The entered value appears in the grid replacing the Custom value verbiage.
  Note: Some of the values in the left pane or grid include the next levels of options to select. The navigational tab extends as a hierarchical list for each value selected from the left pane. The navigational tab values can be configured on the Procedure Documentation Config practice template. You can select the Start tab to return to the first list of sections.
  
  The selected value is concatenated in the field below the View label.
  
  When a value is selected from the grid, an asterisk (*) appears to the left of the selected value in the grid and in the left pane. If the same value is selected again, then the asterisk (*) disappears and the value is cleared from the field below the View label.
  
  The field below the View label displays the concatenated view of the selected values in a Paragraph format. The field is editable when you select the Default paragraph to editable checkbox on the Procedure Documentation Config practice template.
3. If you want to view the data in a tabular format, select the Grid option.
