Commonly Used DB Picklists

The following are examples of the most commonly used DB picklists in the run-time templates: Appointment Room - This opens from the Room field in the Patient Tracking template to indicate where the patient is being seen during the encounter. Appointment Status - This opens from the Status field in the Patient Tracking template to include the status of the patient visit in an encounter. My Instructions - This opens from the fields in the Instructions section on the My Plan template to add instructions for the treatment plan. My Phrases - This opens from the My Phrases link available on many medical record templates to use any available common phrases. Common phrases must be added through the Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template to appear in the DB picklist. Screening Questions - This opens from the Screening Questions button. Access the Custom DB Picklists System Template

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System\Practice Template.The Select Template template list opens. In the Show section, select All to see a complete list of system-level templates. To access the Custom DB Picklists system template, do one of the following: Double-click Custom DB Picklists. Creating and Managing Customizable DB Picklists

The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to create and manage customizable DB picklists that you can associate with any text field in any medical record template in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to configure values for the pre-configured DB picklists that are packaged with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, without updating the triggers in Template Editor. Configure a Website to Access Patient Health Information

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Custom DB Picklists template top grid, select the Patient Generated Health setup DB picklist.The selected Patient Generated Health DB Picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Select Configure.The Patient Generated Health Setup template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add a new care plan data, select the Add New List Items link.The fields above the grid become available for documentation. To associate the custom DB picklist to a practice, select the Practice ID field and select the practice that uses the care plan data. On the Patient Generated Health Setup template, select Add New List Item link.The Add button is available in the Patient Generated Health Setup template. Add Website Reference Links to the Corresponding Contagions

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, select the Contagion reference links.Contagion reference links appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Select Configure.The Contagion References template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add a new contagion reference link, select Add New List Items link. The fields above the grid become available for documentation. To configure contagion reference links accessible to a specific practice, select inside the Practice ID field and select the appropriate option. Enter the name of the Contagion. Note: You must first add the contagion in the Contagion exposure DB picklist. Enter the Reference URL of the website that provides more information on the Contagion.You can select the information icon to view the purpose of the Contagion reference links DB picklist. Edit Contagion References

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, select Contagion reference links. Select Configure.The Contagion References template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. Select the row of the contagion you want to edit.The data populates in the corresponding fields above the grid. Make relevant edits in the applicable fields.
