In the
Custom DB Picklists
template top grid, select the
Patient Generated Health
setup DB picklist.
The selected
Patient Generated Health
DB Picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field.
Select
Configure
.
The
Patient Generated Health Setup
template opens with pre-configured data in the grid.
To add a new care plan data, select the
Add New List Items
link.
The fields above the grid become available for documentation.
To associate the custom DB picklist to a practice, select the
Practice ID
field and select the practice that uses the care plan data.
On the
Patient Generated Health Setup
template, select
Add New List Item
link.
The
Add
button is available in the
Patient Generated Health Setup
template.
Select
Link Type
and select the type of link from the following values:
Advance Directives
Birth Plans
Diabetes Management
Fitness
Living Will
Nutrition
Type a description in the
Description
field.
Type a URL in the
Link
field.
Note:
Ensure to enter a valid URL that begins with http:// or https://
Select
Add
, and then select
Save & Close
.
The record is added in the grid.

Access the Custom DB Picklists System Template
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System\Practice Template.The Select Template template list opens. In the Show section, select All to see a complete list of system-level templates. To access the Custom DB Picklists system template, do one of the following: Double-click Custom DB Picklists. Create a New Custom DB Picklist
You can create a DB picklist at an enterprise-level or use a practice ID to associate the picklist with a practice, location, and provider. When setting up the qualifiers, remember to provide a relevant caption for each qualifier. These captions appear when setting up custom DB picklist items. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the top panel of the Custom DBPicklists system template, select the Add button.The Custom DB Picklist Create and Define window opens. In the Custom DBPicklist name field, enter a unique name. CAUTION: By default, DB picklists are system-wide unless they are associated with a practice ID. Configure a Custom DB Picklist
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, select the custom DB picklist that you want to configure. Do one of the following: If a custom DB picklist uses only Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, it is managed from the Step 2 Add/Edit List Item panel grid. If the custom DB picklist has more than two qualifiers, the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel is collapsed and the Configure button appears to the right of the panel label, skip to step 3. Note: If you want to customize a care plan DB picklist for a specific practice, you need a record in the names table containing the selected practice ID. Select Configure.The Custom DB Picklist Setup template opens. Select Add New List Item link to add a new list item.The fields above the grid become available for documentation. Managing Patient Health Data
You can create and manage a reference to the location of patient health information data using the Patient Health Data template. You can electronically record the details of the patient in reference to the health information data from an external source. You can open the external page using the Access Link field. You can open the Patient Health Data template from the navigation bar that is available for all specialties. The Patient Health Data template includes the Open to Add/Update panel. By default, the Open to Add/Update panel is collapsed. When you expand the Open to Add/Update panel, the panel name appears as Close Add/Update. Add a Custom Care Plan DB Picklist
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Custom DB Picklists template top grid, select the Care Plans custom DB picklist.The selected DBPicklist Care Plans appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Select Configure.The Care Plans Setup template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add new care plan data, select Add New List Items link.The fields above the grid become available for documentation. Select the Practice ID field and select the practice that uses the care plan data. In the Care Plan Type field, enter any of the following care plans: Problem Intervention Outcome Goal In the Problem field, enter a category for the problem. In the Code Set Type field, enter the code type.For example, you can include the code type SNOMED for a care plan goal. In the Code Value field, enter a code to associate with the problem. Add List Items to a DB Picklist
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the top grid, select the row of the DB picklist.The selected DB picklist details populate the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Note that: The Show selected DBPicklist option is selected to display the associated list items. The Show Only Editable Rows option displays the values of the custom DBPicklist that can be modified. Select Add New List Item link.The Get Dbpicklist Names list opens. Select the appropriate DB picklist name and select OK.Upon return to the Custom DB Picklists template, the List Item field at the bottom of the panel is enabled and ready for input. To customize the DB picklist for a specific practice, location and provider, select the relevant Practice ID, Location Name, and/or Provider Name. Note: By default, list items retain the options set for the DB picklist.
