Creating and Managing Customizable DB Picklists

The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to create and manage customizable DB picklists that you can associate with any text field in any medical record template in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to configure values for the pre-configured DB picklists that are packaged with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, without updating the triggers in Template Editor. Configure a Website to Access Patient Health Information

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Custom DB Picklists template top grid, select the Patient Generated Health setup DB picklist.The selected Patient Generated Health DB Picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Select Configure.The Patient Generated Health Setup template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add a new care plan data, select the Add New List Items link.The fields above the grid become available for documentation. To associate the custom DB picklist to a practice, select the Practice ID field and select the practice that uses the care plan data. On the Patient Generated Health Setup template, select Add New List Item link.The Add button is available in the Patient Generated Health Setup template. Select Link Type and select the type of link from the following values: Advance Directives Birth Plans Diabetes Management Fitness Living Will Nutrition Type a description in the Description field. Custom DB Picklist Setup

Once you create and save a custom DB picklist, you can use the Custom DB Picklists template to configure it with different properties and then save it with a unique name. Use the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel to manage: Custom DB picklists that use only two qualifiers (Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2). Custom DB picklists that are already associated with a Practice ID. Documenting a Custom Care Plan DB Picklist

The Custom DB Picklists system template includes the Care Plans setup DB picklist to configure care plan details (common phrases) for the Problem, Intervention, Outcome, and Goal care plan types. The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to create and manage customizable DB picklists. Screening Questions

You can document the additional details using the Screening Questions. Screening questions are groupings of questions for a particular condition. Screening questions are intended to be used for chronic conditions to allow the documentation of additional information for a condition. The Screening Questions panel is available on the Care Guidelines grid view template. The Screening Questions panel is blank until you select a condition. Note: Screening Questions are also available on the Chronic Conditions HPI and the Chronic Conditions templates. The grid view Care Guidelines panel is also available on the Chronic Conditions template. You can configured screening questions on the Custom Dbpicklists practice template. Screening questions come shipped with the application and can be edited or added.
