Document a Call

On the Telephone Communications template, Communication panel, click New Call to document the details of the call. Click the Call Type field and select a type of call from the list. The links in the left pane and the corresponding options appear based on the selected Call Type. Select an option for each of the following fields: Contact Type Urgency Spoke With Note: The required fields are highlighted by bolded column headings. You must document these fields before you can save the call information in the grid. Click the Contact Information link. Select an option for each column, Preferred Contact and Alternate Contact. Click the links from the left pane to document the call details. Each link has different options which you can select to build the call information. Enter comments in the text field below the grid. Documenting the NextGen® Enterprise Communication Component

The Communication panel includes the NextGen® Enterprise communication component. The top section displays the call details. Since a single encounter can have multiple expandable or collapsible call threads, you can filter the call details by Call Type and Status for all encounters. The View Call History Prior to v7.4 link enables you to review call details entered on a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine version prior to 7.4. The link must be configured to appear in the Communication panel. View Call History Use the New Task button to create new tasks or to assign tasks to other users or groups. If a user assigns a telephone task to a workgroup or individual for further action or review, the documented telephone communication appears in the Inbox of the assigned person or practice. Generate the Telephone Communication Document

The Telephone Communication template includes the Preview Document and Offline buttons. Both buttons relate directly to the Telephone Communication document. Telephone Communication

NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine includes two telephone templates that enable you to view and document a telephone interaction between a practice and a patient or a patient's representative. Based on your preferences, you can document the communication details on either of the following templates: Telephone Call- Captures the reason for the call. Enables you to add comments and to generate tasks you can assign to another users' to-do list. Telephone Communication- Quick and comprehensive documentation of the telephone interactions, this template includes the NextGen® Enterprise EHR communication component to streamline the documentation process Note: There are minimum system requirements associated with the Telephone Communication template. Modify Existing Patient Reminders

On the Telephone Communications template, Reminder panel, select the row that you want to modify. The fields at the top of the Reminder panel fill with the selected patient reminder details. Make the necessary changes in the fields, and then click Update. The modified data appears in the grid. Parent topic: Document Patient Reminders

Configure the Telephone Communication Document to Generate Offline

From the File menu, select System \ Practice Templates. The Select Template window appears. In the Show section, select All. On the Practice tab, open the Document Configuration practice template. In the Practice Level Configurations section under Document Options, select the Set templates other than the Master document and Chart Note to Offline document generation check box to automate the generation as offline.
