Set the Default Telephone Template

The Telephone Call template is the default in the out-of-package NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. You can leave this as the default or set the Telephone Communication template to launch instead. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Templates. The Select Template window appears. In the Show section, select All. On the Practice tab, scroll down and highlight Practice Configuration, and click OK. In the Telephone Call/Communication section, do one of the following: Select the Launch Telephone Communication check box. Leave the Launch Telephone Communication check box unselected to document communications on the Telephone Call template. Document a Call

On the Telephone Communications template, Communication panel, click New Call to document the details of the call. Click the Call Type field and select a type of call from the list. The links in the left pane and the corresponding options appear based on the selected Call Type. Select an option for each of the following fields: Contact Type Urgency Spoke With Note: The required fields are highlighted by bolded column headings. You must document these fields before you can save the call information in the grid. Click the Contact Information link. Select an option for each column, Preferred Contact and Alternate Contact. Click the links from the left pane to document the call details. Each link has different options which you can select to build the call information. Enter comments in the text field below the grid. Generate the Telephone Communication Document

The Telephone Communication template includes the Preview Document and Offline buttons. Both buttons relate directly to the Telephone Communication document. General Document Options

The practice level document options are: Option Description Default Histories to "Reviewed no changes" Sets the document detail option to reviewed for all the history sections by default and prints histories as reviewed on the document, unless the following applies: The Include detail in document option is selected in run time and the Reviewed, no changes option is selected for Family, Social, and Past Medical Histories in the History Review template on the Histories template. Disable Chart Note generation If you select this option, the Chart Note document does not launch anywhere in the application. If you clear this option, the application allows for the generation of a Chart Note document normally. Set templates other than the Master document and Chart Note to Offline document generation Sets the document generation offline on the respective templates. Telephone Communication

You can view and document the communication between a practice and a patient or a patient's representative. Depending on your preference, you can view and document telephone interaction details on the Telephone Call or Telephone Communication template. With the Telephone Call template you can document the reason for a call, add additional comments, and create tasks to assign to a patient's task list. You can access the template from the Template module. Telephone Call With the Telephone Communication template, you can quickly document details of telephone interactions with patients. The template includes the communication component that works seamlessly with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to streamline the documentation process. You can access this template from the Template module for all specialties. NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine ships with the Telephone Call template as the default.
