Configure Sensitive Encounters

You can configure a sensitive encounter for specific patient data elements using the Sensitive Information Configuration template.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. From File, select System \ Practice Template.
    The Select Template window opens.
  3. On the Practice tab, select the All option.
  4. Select Practice Configuration, and then select OK.
    The Practice Configuration template opens.
  5. In the Sensitive Encounters section, select Configure Sensitive Encounter.
    The Sensitive Encounter Configuration template opens.

  6. In Location and Code System, select the value from the list.
  7. Enter the Description and Additional Information , if any, for the selected record, and then select Add.
    The record is added in the data grid.
  8. Optional: Select Import to import the sensitive codes from Data Share Module (DSM).
    The DSM Ind column in the data grid shows whether the code is imported, using Y for yes and N for no.
  9. Select Save and Close.
