Cardiology Office Visit and Virtual Visit

You can document a patient’s visit to a Cardiology specialty using several workflows. A Cardiology visit consists of office and virtual visits. Note: The instructions provided for office visit in the following sections are also applicable for virtual visits. The Cardiology office and virtual visit workflow includes the following: Intake staff workflow provides instructions for nurses or medical assistants on how to use the Intake and Histories templates to document the reasons for visit, medication, allergies, social history, and so on. Provider workflow provides instructions for physicians on how to use the SOAP and Finalize templates to document assessment and physical exam details, generate evaluation, management codes, and so on. Checkout staff workflow provides instructions for front desk employees on how to use the Checkout template to view order details and provide necessary documents to patients. Cardiology User Guide

You can document the Cardiology visits on the following templates: Intake Histories SOAP Finalize Checkout Intake Staff Workflow The intake staff, such as a nurse or technician, can use the Intake template to document patient encounter workflow. The intake staff opens the visit by checking the patient in, using the Intake template. The intake staff can review the patient's details documented in the previous encounters on the Home Page template. Histories Workflow After documenting the details on the Intake template, the nurse can document the medical history of the patient on the Histories template. Provider Workflow After the nurse documents the intake and medical details, the provider can document assessments and findings, and submit the codes for billing. The provider can review the patient's historical information documented in the previous encounters on the Home Page template or review the Intake Note document generated by the intake staff. Cardiology Provider Workflow on the Finalize Template

The Finalize template allows you to document various patient findings. You can use the Finalize - Cardiology template to do the following. Document assessments, medical decision making, counseling details, and Evaluation and Management (EM or E&M) coding. Submit codes for billing. Open a patient support case, visit document, and referral thank-you letter. Evaluation and Management Coding You can use three types of guidelines to calculate the Evaluation and Management code for Cardiology. Generate Documents You can generate and print various patient documents such as patient support cases, visit documents, referral thank-you letters, and provider communications on the Finalize - Cardiology template. Review and Sign Off Care Plans The Provider Sign Off section enables you to send a request to the supervising physician for review and sign off to indicate that the plan of care provided to the patient is appropriate. Cardiology Histories Workflow

You can document the cardiology histories in the Histories - Cardiology template. The template uses standard framework functionality and is used by the nurse/technician to document a patient's history. You can document the following in the Histories – Cardiology template. Problems Medical/Surgical/Interim Diagnostic Studies Family Social Document Cardiac Problems The Problems panel enables you to document, search for, and select the chronic and secondary conditions of a patient's problems. Manage Patient's Disease You can manage the patient's disease in the Medical/Surgical/Interim panel on the Histories template. Update Past Medical History You can update the past medical history for a patient in the Edit Past Medical History template. Document the Interim History You can document all patient medical encounters, which includes but is not limited to, hospitalizations, emergency room visits, office visits, and same day surgeries. Cardiology Checkout Staff Workflow

After completing the intake staff and provider workflow, the front office staff initiates and completes the patient checkout process on the Checkout template. The Checkout template contains the following sections. Today's Orders Lists all orders that have been placed on the current day. Given to Patient/Verified Displays items verified or given to patients. Patient Education Displays the education documents to be issued to patients. Edit Orders You can view, verify, and process orders that have been placed for a patient. Process Lab Orders You can process Lab orders on the Checkout template. Create Requisition for Orders You can create a requisition document for a selected order type on the Checkout template. Create Patient Plan Summary Documents You can create a patient plan summary on the Checkout template. Cardiac Procedures

The Cardiology Procedures template enables you to enter results for historical cardiac procedures administered to patients by a nurse, technician, or provider. The Cardiology procedure categories appear in the left pane of the Cardiac Procedures grid. You can filter the grid to show a specific date range. The Cardiac Procedures panel provides the following viewing options. Launch Template Opens the procedure template. Launch Attachment Opens the procedure attachment. Cardiac Procedures Document Historical Cardiac Procedures You can document historical cardiac procedures administered to patients. The application adds these procedures to the Order Management with status as completed. Cardiac Procedure Categories The Cardiac Procedures panel categorizes the types of historical cardiac procedures.
