Allergy Evaluation Workflow

Patient allergy evaluation workflow for the intake staff, providers, and front office staffs. Typically, the patient allergy evaluation workflow involves the following steps: The intake staff uses the Intake and Histories templates to begin the visit for the patient. If needed, the intake staff can review the patient's details documented in previous encounters on the Home Page template. Using the Intake and Histories templates, a nurse or medical assistant can document the reasons for visit, medication, allergies, social history, and so on. The provider can review the patient history documented in previous encounters on the Home Page template or in the intake note document the intake staff generates. The provider then documents the patient exam on the SOAP template. The provider completes the visit and calculates the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code on the Finalize template. Allergy Testing Workflow

You can test and document a patient's asthma related issues on the Testing - Allergy template. You can perform and document the results of allergy testing for the Testing Only visit type. You can use the Testing - Allergy template for the following tests: Prick test ID test Challenge test Allergen Specific IgE test Begin a Testing Only Visit You can use the Testing Only visit type for patients allergy testing only. Placing Allergy Orders and Documenting Test You can document the test result in the Prick/ID/Challenge Test panel on the Testing - Allergy template. Challenge Tests Panel You can use the Challenge Tests panel to enter the administration and other test data for previously ordered challenge tests. Provider Workflow for Allergy Testing You can review the patient's medical summary details on the Home Page template and then proceed to the SOAP and Finalize templates. Pulmonary Function (Spirometry) Testing

You can find the historical results from the spirometry readings on the following templates or panels: In the Spirometry panel of the Intake - Allergy and SOAP - Allergy templates In the Historical Results panel of the Spirometry template When spirometry testing is documented on the Spirometry template, the physician reviews the results and selects the specific procedures to be billed. Enter Pre-Treatment Values for Spirometry You can use the General panel on the Spirometry template to record the pre-treatment details for spirometry testing. Document the Asthma Peak Flow of Patients

You can measure the capacity of a patient's lungs to expel air. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . The Select Template window opens. Open the Asthma template. Select the diagnosis, and then select the Peak Flow Measurements linkThe Asthma Peak Flow template opens. NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically fills the name, gender, age, date, and Predicted peak expiratory values. Enter the race of the patient. In Asthma Peak Flow Measurements, select the method of testing the peak expiratory flow rate. Enter the height of the patient within the range of 30.48 to 304.5 centimeters or 12 to 119.88 inches. Select measure or carried forward as necessary. Enter a value in the Personal best field. In the Peak flow field, enter the peak expiratory flow rate of the patient within the range of 10 to 999. Document the Asthma Flowsheet

You can document the diagnosis and clinical assessment for a patient on the Asthma Flowsheet template. You can use the Asthma-HPI template to document the details on Asthma Flowsheet. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . The Select Template window opens. Open the SOAP template, and expand the Reason for Visit panel. The Asthma HPI template opens. Select Asthma Flowsheet. The Asthma Flowsheet template opens. Asthma Flowsheet To add a diagnosis, do the following: Select the Asthma Diagnosis field. The Diagnosis Search window opens and displays the asthma diagnoses. Diagnosis Search Window Select an asthma diagnosis from the list. In the Status field, select a status from the list. In the Clinical Assessment section, select Upload Vital Signs to fill the fields with previously recorded vital signs or enter the values manually as follows: For Height, enter a value in the in or cm field within the range of 12 t
