Asthma Workflow

Asthma workflow is the process of documenting a patient's asthma related issues. The Asthma workflow enables testing or treatment of pulmonary function during a normal office visit. The possible workflow for asthma patients are: Intake staff uses the Intake and Histories templates to begin the visit for a patient. A provider reviews the intake information and adds additional details on the Asthma Flowsheet template. The provider uses the Spirometry and Nebulizer panels, respectively to document the pulmonary function testing and/or a nebulizer treatment of the patient. The provider uses the Finalize template to complete the visit and to calculate the E&M code. The front office staff uses the Checkout template to complete the discharge formality for the patient. Allergy Evaluation Workflow

Patient allergy evaluation workflow for the intake staff, providers, and front office staffs. Typically, the patient allergy evaluation workflow involves the following steps: The intake staff uses the Intake and Histories templates to begin the visit for the patient. If needed, the intake staff can review the patient's details documented in previous encounters on the Home Page template. Using the Intake and Histories templates, a nurse or medical assistant can document the reasons for visit, medication, allergies, social history, and so on. The provider can review the patient history documented in previous encounters on the Home Page template or in the intake note document the intake staff generates. The provider then documents the patient exam on the SOAP template. The provider completes the visit and calculates the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code on the Finalize template. Allergy Testing Workflow

You can test and document a patient's asthma related issues on the Testing - Allergy template. You can perform and document the results of allergy testing for the Testing Only visit type. You can use the Testing - Allergy template for the following tests: Prick test ID test Challenge test Allergen Specific IgE test Begin a Testing Only Visit You can use the Testing Only visit type for patients allergy testing only. Placing Allergy Orders and Documenting Test You can document the test result in the Prick/ID/Challenge Test panel on the Testing - Allergy template. Challenge Tests Panel You can use the Challenge Tests panel to enter the administration and other test data for previously ordered challenge tests. Provider Workflow for Allergy Testing You can review the patient's medical summary details on the Home Page template and then proceed to the SOAP and Finalize templates. Allergy Home Page Template

You can review the historical information of the patient on the Home Page - Allergy template. The panels displayed on the Home Page - Allergy template can be customized by the practice. Panel Description General Enables you to indicate if the patient is new or an established patient for the current encounter. Allergy Test Flowsheet Enables you to list the allergy testing orders of the patient. Summary Enables you to view the details of the patient's past medical or surgical history, interim, social, family, diagnostic study, HPI, plan, lab, assessments and so on from the historical encounters. On the Home Page - Allergy template, the intake staff can review the patient history documented in previous encounters. The patient details documented by the intake staff on the Intake and Histories templates appear on the Home Page - Allergy template for the provider's review.
