Setting Firewall and Proxy Configurations to Prevent Video Blocking

The NextGen Healthcare Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) service provider requires access to specific User Datagram Protocol (UDP) ports for the best video and audio experience. You must open the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) port 443 by changing your firewall settings. To ensure optimal video and audio quality, you must also do one of the following. Open UDP ports 10000–65535 to all inbound and outbound traffic. These ports permit WebRTC to establish direct connections to media servers and minimize lag and latency by bypassing relays. Note: Video and audio streams are encrypted using DTLS 1.2/SRTP. Open UDP port 3478 if it is not feasible to open all UDP ports on your network. This approach allows media data to flow through Traversal Using Relays around NAT (TURN) UDP. This is a step above TCP. However, an additional server is required to relay packets. For local network or router configuration, you can set the Quality of Service (QoS) priority high for telehealth sites to optimize video streaming. A supported device with a working front-facing camera, microphone, and speakers. Ensure that your device is using the latest supporting operating system For a Universal Serial Bus (USB) webcam, ensure that your webcam is connected to a high-speed USB 2.0 port. Update your USB webcam's firmware and software to the latest versions. A supported browser for your device. Ensure that your browser can access the camera and microphone. If you are a practice user, you can choose to receive the following notifications: Visit confirmation, rescheduling, and cancellation notifications (by email only) Visit reminder notifications (by email and SMS) Patient joined visit notifications (by email and SMS) Within NextGen Virtual Visits™, select Notification SettingsNotification Settings icon. If necessary, update the email and phone number that indicate where to send your notifications. To receive notifications, turn on the ON/OFF notifications option. Prerequisites for Sending the NextGen Virtual Visits™ Link to Patients through NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma

To send a virtual visit link through NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma to patients, your practice must meet the minimum requirements and configure properly. When a virtual visit appointment is scheduled in NextGen Virtual Visits™, NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma collects the patient-specific virtual visit URL and sends to patients 30 minutes and 5 minutes before the appointment time through a text message or email. To send virtual visit links through NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma, you must have the following applications installed and configured in your system: NextGen® Enterprise 6.2021 or NextGen® Enterprise 8.
