Completing a Virtual Visit

To complete a visit, you have the following two options:
  • Leave Visit – The visit link remains active so that other users at your practice can continue the visit with the patient.
  • End Visit - This ends the visit for the patient and all other users. The visit link becomes inactive, and the visit is marked as complete. The encounter is marked as Checked Out in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can then finalize the encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.

After the visit is complete, a copy of the Virtual Visit Summary is attached to the patient encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. This document contains visit and patient details, patient signoffs, answers to patient intake questions, and a chat transcript (for single patient visits). The chat transcript includes the names of all documents shared during the visit.

You can view the amount of time spent on the visit, a copy of your chat transcript, and patient intake questions, from the encounter folder Virtual Visit in the patient’s chart.
