View Encounter Information
NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to quickly view the contents of an encounter for a selected patient on the Encounter Details window. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select an encounter and select the button to open the Encounter Details window. Select the respective link to view any document, template, module, or report associated with the encounter.The selected patient item opens in the main window of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: If an encounter is locked, you can open the patient item in read-only format. You can update information for a locked encounter by creating an addendum or custom encounter. Encounter Options for Encounter History
The Encounter Options button on the Encounter History tab provides you quick access to configure the encounter. The Encounter Options comprises the following elements. Sensitivity Settings Lock encounter/Unlock encounter Delete Encounter Encounter Level Insurance Encounter Description / Remark Properties Case Note: Cases are hidden if the View Case Management Encounter Display check box is not selected in the user or practice preferences. Copy Virtual Visit URL Note: Copy Virtual Visit URL is hidden when Virtual Visit is not enabled for the selected encounter. Sensitive Encounters You can mark an encounter as sensitive.You can mark an encounter as no longer sensitive. Lock an Encounter You can lock an encounter to prevent any changes to a patient encounter. Unlock an Encounter You can unlock an encounter to allow others to make changes. Schedule On-Demand NextGen Virtual Visits™
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select New and then select Schedule On Demand NextGen Virtual Visit.NextGen Virtual Visits™ will open in a new tab. Note: You need to use Chrome™ or Firefox® as default browsers and ensure production URL for NextGen Virtual Visits™ is correctly maintained in System Administrator to schedule the virtual visits. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. Select the plus icon in NextGen Virtual Visits™, and do one of the following: Select Patient Search to schedule virtual visits for existing patients. Select Quick Add to schedule virtual visits for new patients. Disable NextGen Virtual Visits™
When a patient's virtual visit is complete, the Virtual visit link can be disabled on the Encounter History tab. Select End to end the virtual visit in NextGen Virtual Visits™. Select the Virtual Visit link on the Encounter History tab.A message appears stating that the virtual visit scheduled for the patient has ended. Select OK.The Virtual Visit link has been disabled. Open NextGen Virtual Visits™
Before you begin Provider must be at a practice that is licensed with NextGen Virtual Visits™. Patient must be an existing patient and already scheduled for a virtual visit. Patient must be checked into NextGen Virtual Visits™ before the provider or the provider's staff. Ensure that the Send HTML document for mobile integration option is enabled in the Virtual Visits portal for the Virtual Visit link to appear in Encounter History. You must enable and configure NextGen Virtual Visits™ in File Maintenance. For more information on configuring practice preferences for NextGen Virtual Visits™, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest File Maintenance Preferences Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. Encounters in NextGen® Enterprise EHR
An encounter is an interaction with a patient on a specific date at a specific time. An encounter can be a visit, a phone call, a virtual visit, a referral, a test result, or an interaction. A patient can have more than one encounter per day. Patient encounters are displayed on the Encounter History tab. You can expand or collapse the Encounter History tab using the button above the Quick Buttons panel. Each row in the Encounter History tab represents one encounter. Encounters are identified by date and time, provider, and location. The Encounter History tab displays basic information of an encounter like the rendering provider, location, appointment type/reason for visit, templates and documents related to the appointment. The Encounter History tab displays the list of encounters created for the selected patient and includes the following components: New Encounter Creates an encounter.
