Get Started with V1000 Virtual

Use the virtual appliance image to deploy to your V1000 Virtual.

Before you begin

You must have some version of VMware® virtualization software already installed, such as VMware Workstation Player™, VMware Fusion®, or VMware Server™.

You can set up the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare by using a V1000 Virtual appliance.
  1. Use the virtual appliance image to deploy to your V1000 Virtual.
If you received a DVD from Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare with the virtual appliance image file, the file is located in the base directory. If the image file was delivered electronically, it is located in the outgoing directory of the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) server.
  2. Import the virtual machine image into the VMware virtualization application that is running. Consult the documentation on your VMware product for importing and converting the virtual appliance image.
  3. Wait a few minutes for the appliance to complete startup. When the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare is fully started, the appliance logon window appears.
  4. If you are using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), note the IP address for eth0 as displayed on the window, and then proceed to the final step.
  5. If you are not using DHCP, log on to the console interface:
    • username: console
    • password: console
After you are logged on, the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare menu appears.
  6. Go to the Change IP Address menu and follow the prompts.
You can now exit out of the console interface and manage the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare through the HTTP interface at http://W.X.Y.Z/, where W.X.Y.Z is the IP address of the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. The default credentials for the web interface are:
  • username: admin
  • password: admin
