Broadcasting Services with Bonjour®
Your Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare is a device enabled with Bonjour® networking technology that automatically broadcasts its own services and listens for services being offered for the use of others.
From a device running the macOS® operating system, or a computer running Windows® that has Bonjour® 1.0.4 or later installed, you can use Safari® , Edge® , Firefox® , or Chrome™ to access a Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare without knowing the appliance’s IP address. This method is convenient if the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare is assigned a new IP from Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) or if you do not know the IP address.
The computer browsing for Bonjour® devices must be on the same network as the appliance you are searching, otherwise the Appliance does not appear in the Bonjour® list.
In Edge® , the Bonjour® icon appears in the standard toolbar. Selecting the Bonjour® icon
opens the Explorer bar, which displays a list of Bonjour-enabled devices on your network. Selecting a Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare from the list opens the logon window.
In macOS® , open the Safari® bookmarks window, and then select Bonjour®.
