Additional Network Routes

The Additional Network Routes section enables you to configure more network routes. From the menu, select System > Network to access the network configuration settings. The Default Gateway in the Additional Network Routes section represents the path used to connect to other networks. It is usually a router or firewall address, and it must always be directly accessible from at least one of the appliance network interfaces. To add or manage static routes, select Add Static Route. Network Settings

The Network Settings section displays current network settings. From the menu, select System > Network to access the network configuration settings. The DNS Server addresses tell the appliance where to look for translating domain names to IP addresses. These settings are required when using host names in channels and SSL tunnels and for all email delivery. The Domain Search Path is the default domain that is appended to hostnames when forming a fully qualified domain name. This is usually the local domain for your internal network. With the Enable Bonjour checkbox, you can enable or disable Bonjour®. It is enabled by default. Parent topic: The Network Window

Using Virtual Private Network Connections

Using Virtual Private Network Connections Using Virtual Private Network Connections A virtual private network (VPN) enables you to create a secure channel of communication (or "tunnel") over a public network, such as the internet. Security is provided through authentication to ensure that the entity connecting is authorized and through encryption to protect the data in transit. Select Services > VPN Connections to create the connection. The VPN service uses certificate-based SSL authentication. Therefore, each VPN user that you configure has a unique certificate generated and assigned to them. When a user attempts to connect to the service, their VPN client must present a valid certificate for the VPN to be established. The VPN service uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cipher algorithm in cipher block chaining (CBC) mode with a 256-bit key. VPN connection management enables you to terminate client-based VPN connections directly on your Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare.

Apply Destination Connector SSL Settings

On the Channels page, double-click a channel in the Channel list. Select the Destinations tab. In the Connector Type field, select the connector type that supports the SSL Manager (HTTP Sender, Web Service Sender, File Writer in FTP mode). In the SSL Settings section, the SSL Manager is inactive. If you populate the URL field in the HTTP Sender Settings section, the field turns yellow with a Lock icon next to the URL. If you move the pointer over the Lock icon, a tool tip appears that explains the reason for the situation. (Selecting the Lock icon opens a window with the same content as the tool tip.) Set Up Remote Connections

The Remote Connections master file enables you to specify the parameters of the network connection between the central NextGen® Document Management installation and remote NextGen® Document Management locations. To add or modify a remote connection: From the Master Files > System list, select Remote Connections. The Remote Connections List window displays. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Remote Connection Configuration window displays. Enter information in the following fields: Field Description Remote Connection Name Enter a name for the remote connection. This is a required field.
