Open File Maintenance.
Select
Master Lists
.
The
Master Lists List
window opens.
In the
Master List
field, select
Language
.
To filter the master list items, select or clear any of the following checkboxes:
Include Hidden Items
to display items in the master list that are hidden.
Include EHR Items
to display items in the master list that are set up as
Show in EHR
Note:
Clear this checkbox as the correspondence language feature is not applicable to
NextGen® Enterprise
.
Include PM Items
to display items in the master list that are set up as
Show in PM
.
Do one of the following:
To add a language, select
Open Menu
, and then select
New
.
To modify an existing language, select the language, select
Open Menu
, and then select
Open
.
The
Add Language Information
or
Modify Language Information
window opens.
Enter the name of the language in the
Description
.
Select
Show in PM
checkbox to display the languages in
NextGen® Enterprise PM
.
Clear the
Show in EHR
checkbox as the preferred language feature does not display in
NextGen® Enterprise
.
To save changes and close the window, select
OK
.
Optional:
Select a language, and then use the up and down arrows to change the order within a master list.

To close the
Master Lists List
window, select
Close

Note:
You can print a list of all items within a master list table by selecting
Open Menu
and then selecting
Print

Set Up Practice Preferences for Multi-Language Letters
Before you begin Enable multi-language for PM must be selected on the Enterprise Preferences > General tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Admin > Preferences > Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. From the Preference List, select Forms. In the Enable Multi-Language Letters field, select one or more of the following supported letter types. Appointment Reminder Budget Letter (All) Demand Account Demand Encounter Recall After you select one or more letter types, then the link displays on the Demographics tab of the Patient/Person Information window. Setting Up the Letters Master File for Supported Correspondence Languages
Setting up the Letters Master File, includes the following steps: Create each letter type in English. This letter will be the Default letter. Create letters in one or more of the supported correspondence languages. Associate letters in a supported correspondence language to the Default Letter type, written in English. On the Letters window, you can perform the following tasks: Create a letter. Open the Default letter and modify the content of the letter. You CANNOT change the language of the Default letter. Open a letter associated with a default letter type, and then modify the content of the letter or change the associated language. Copy an existing letter. The letter displays in the last row of the table and is named "Copy of Letter Type". Edit the Name, Description, or Header of the letter. Hide a letter. Setting Up Multi-Language Letters
To setup the multi-language letters feature, you must select options in Enterprise Preferences and Practice Preferences. Create letters in English and other languages in Master Files > Practice > Letters. Add languages to the Master List and associate a default letter type to a supported correspondence language. Set Up Enterprise Preferences for Multi-Language Letters
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Admin > Preferences > Enterprise. The Enterprise Preferences window opens. From the Preference List, select General. To turn on printing and previewing letters in multiple languages for the enterprise, select the Enable multi-language for PM checkbox. To save changes and close the window, select OK. The Enable Multi Language Letters displays on the Practice Preferences window in the Forms tab. In the list you can select the letters that you can preview and print in one or more of the supported languages. Set Up the Language Master List
After you add a new language in the Language Master List the following occurs: The Master List Language report includes the column Mapped Correspondence Language. After you map a master list language to a supported correspondence language, this field is populated. For example, if you map Castilian Spanish to Spanish; Spanish(ES), displays in this column. After you add the new language, it displays in the Correspondence Language Master File on the Correspondence Language Mapping window in the Master List Languages list. Access File Maintenance. Select Master Lists. The Master Lists List window opens. In the Master List field, select Language. To limit the contents of the Language Master List, select one or more of the following check boxes: Check Box Description Include Hidden Items Do one of the following: Select this check box to display items in the master list that are hidden. Clear the check box to remove hidden items from the list. Include EHR Items Leave this check box blank. The

Multi-Language Letters in NextGen® Enterprise PM
You can create letters in any of the supported correspondence languages by writing the letter and then copy and paste the letter into a letter type using multi-language letter functionality. The application does not translate letters. Each letter must first be created in the Default language of English. The letter types include appointment reminders, recall notices, demand account, demand encounter, and budget letters. Letters can be set up and printed in the following supported correspondence languages: Arabic (AR) Chinese (ZH) French (FR) German (DE) Hindi (HI) Italian (IT) Japanese (JA) Korean (KO) Persian (FA) Polish (PL) Portuguese (PT) Russian (RU) Spanish (ES) Vietnamese (VI) When publishing letter types for patients, NextGen® Enterprise PM determines the patient's language by checking the correspondence language entered in the Correspondence Language field on the Patient Information > Demographics tab.
