Set Up the Language Master List

After you add a new language in the Language Master List the following occurs:

  • The Master List Language report includes the column Mapped Correspondence Language. After you map a master list language to a supported correspondence language, this field is populated. For example, if you map Castilian Spanish to Spanish; Spanish(ES), displays in this column.
  • After you add the new language, it displays in the Correspondence Language Master File on the Correspondence Language Mapping window in the Master List Languages list.
  1. Access File Maintenance.
  2. Select Master Lists.
    The Master Lists List window opens.

  3. In the Master List field, select Language.
  4. To limit the contents of the Language Master List, select one or more of the following check boxes:
    Check BoxDescription
    Include Hidden ItemsDo one of the following:
    • Select this check box to display items in the master list that are hidden.

    • Clear the check box to remove hidden items from the list.

    Include EHR ItemsLeave this check box blank.

    The correspondence language feature is not applicable to NextGen® Enterprise.

    Include PM ItemsDo one of the following:
    • Select this check box to display items in the master list that are setup to Show in PM.

      This field is required if you want to map the language to one of the supported correspondence languages.

    • Clear the check box to remove Show in PM items from the list.

  5. Do one of the following:
    • To add a new language, select Open Menu and select New.
    • To modify an existing language, select Open Menu button and select Open.
    The Master Lists List window opens.
  6. On this window do the following:
    • Description field - enter the name of the language. This field is required.
    • Include PM Items check box - Select this check box to display the languages in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
    • Include EHR Items - leave this check box blank.
  7. To save changes and close the window, select OK.
  8. If desired, use the up/down arrow to change the order of items within a master list. For more information, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the File Maintenance Master Lists Guide for NextGen Enterprise.
  9. To close the window, select Close.
