Hide a Service Package

You can hide a Service Package library in File Maintenance. When hidden, the library is not available for selection in Practice Preferences > Libraries. For example, if your practice has created a new Library ABC and no longer uses Library XYZ, you can hide the Library XYZ to prevent users from selecting it in Practice Preferences. Open File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Service Package. The Service Package List window opens. From the list, select a library and then do one of the following: Select open menu button and then select Hide. Right-click and then select Hide. A prompt appears asking you to confirm hiding the library. To confirm the hide, select Yes. The library is hidden and removed from the list. Parent topic: Service Package Library

Assign Practice Access to a Service Package Library

The Service Package library is a system-level table. Therefore, all libraries can potentially be accessed by any practice in any enterprise. If your enterprise includes multiple practices, you can use the Practice Access option to define which practices have access to each library. For example, Practice A and Practice B both use Service Package Library XYZ, but Practice C does not. Therefore, only Practices A and B should have access to Service Package Library XYZ. Open File Maintenance and select Libraries > Service Package. The Service Package List window opens. From the list, select a library and then do one of the following: Select open menu and then select Practice Access. Right-click and then select Practice Access. The Library Access by Practice window opens. Select one or more practices and then select OK. Note: When the library was first created, the user was logged into File Maintenance for a specific practice. By default, that practice is pre-selected for access to the libra

Service Package Library

The Service Package library enables you to define the various sets of packaged services that payers may authorize for patients. Each service package includes groupings of specific CPT4 code and modifier combinations with defined service unit limitations. A single library can be created and used by the practice. The library may include multiple service package configurations, each with different CPT4 and modifiers, service unit limits and service duration limits. A service package configuration is then linked to a patient's insurance in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Note: This is a practice-level library only. A library cannot be linked to specific payers in the Payers master file. The Programs master file is a system-level table. Therefore, all programs can potentially be accessed by any practice in any enterprise. If your enterprise includes multiple practices, you can use the Practice Access option to define which practices have access to each program. For example, Practice A and Practice B both provide services under Program XYZ, but Practice C does not. Therefore, only Practices A and B should have access to Program XYZ. Note: Multiple practices with access to the same program share all system-level parameters defined on the program System and Clinical tabs.
