Linking Appointments

You can link appointments together for a patient. This helps you to manage all the appointments for the patient as part of a group. For example, a patient may have three appointments on the same day at the same location with different resources. Linking appointments enables you to do the following: Confirm all linked appointments at the same time. Check-in all linked appointments at the same time. Create a single encounter for all linked appointments. Print a single fee ticket for all linked appointments. Cancel all linked appointments at the same time. Note: Appointments with the status of Expected, Pending, or No Show can be linked together. Link Multiple Appointments You can link multiple appointments to a patient’s current appointment. View Linked Appointments You can view the appointments that are linked to a patient's current appointment. Rescheduling an Appointment

You can reschedule an appointment in any of the following ways: Open and Edit: You can open the appointment from any view in the Appointment Book window, except the Monthly view tab, and edit the Date and Time fields on the Edit Appointment window. Note: This is not the recommended method for rescheduling appointments. Cut and Paste: From any view in the Appointment Book window, except the Monthly view tab. In the Appointment Book window select an appointment that you want to reschedule, right-click, and select cut. You can paste the appointment in a different time slot, and do the changes in the Edit Appointment window as needed. Note: This is the recommended method for rescheduling appointments. Drag and Drop: From the Daily or Weekly List view tab of the Appointment Book window, you can select the appointment and drag and drop it on a new timeslot to reschedule the appointment. Removing an Appointment

To remove an appointment from the schedule, you can either Cancel the appointment, or Delete the appointment. Both canceled and deleted appointments retain a record in the patient's chart and are available on reports. When you cancel an appointment, you are prompted to select an Appointment Cancellation Reason. This is useful for tracking the various reasons that appointments are canceled. When you cancel the appointment, it is removed from the schedule and the appointment status changes to canceled. When you delete an appointment, you are not prompted to select an Appointment Cancellation Reason. When you cancel the appointment, it is removed from the schedule. The appointment status does not change, but the appointment now has a deleted indicator. Modifying an Appointment

You can modify the following information for an existing appointment: Appointment details, such as date, time, event, resource, location, and so on. Change the patient linked to the appointment. Patient demographics information, such as address, phone numbers, and so on. Modify Appointment Details You can modify the appointment and reschedule if needed. Change the Patient Linked to an Appointment You can change the patient linked to the appointment. Update Patient Demographics from an Appointment

You can update or change the patient demographics information even after scheduling the appointment from the Edit Appointment window. Select the appointment to update the patient information, and double-click to open the Edit Appointment window. Select the open menu button next to the patient's name and select Lookup. The Update Patient Information window opens. Update the patient demographics information as needed. Select OK to save changes and close the window. The Edit Appointment window reopens. Modify Appointment Details

You can modify the appointment and reschedule if needed. Select the appointment to be modified, and double-click to open the Edit Appointment window. Make the modifications to the appointment as needed. Select OK to save changes and close the window. If any of the following fields are modified, the change is considered a reschedule: Date Time Event Duration Resource Location Patient The Appointment Rescheduling Reasonwindow opens.
