Insurance Aging Analysis – Age Responsible Balances Only Report
The Insurance Aging Analysis – Age Responsible Balances Only report repeats the charge lines for as many buckets in balance control that have a balance. For example, if a charge has an amount in the insurance 1 bucket and a patient bucket, the report lists the same charge on two lines. One line displays the amount for the insurance 1 bucket - along with the payer name and financial class of the primary payer name - and the other line displays the patient amount with the payer name and financial class listed as self pay.
To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Accounts Receivable, then select Collections, and then select Insurance Aging Analysis - Age Responsible Balances Only.
From the Report Filter window, selectInfo to view the following information about the report:
- This report repeats the charge lines for each bucket in Balance Control that has a balance. For example, if a charge has balances in the Ins1 bucket and the Pat bucket, the report lists the same charge on two (different) lines. One line displays the amount for Ins1 Amt bucket - along with the payer name and financial class of the primary payer - and the other line displays the Pat Amt with the payer name and financial class listed as self-pay.
- Since a specific charge can be listed more than once, the summing of some of the columns by default was taken out because the amount will be inflated.
- For example, Chg Amt, Count and Line Itm Amt are not summed on the report. The aging buckets are not inflated because each row on the report only pertains to a single balance control bucket. The Rendering and Location are from the charge since it is charge based.
- Runs only by Process Date (As Of Date).
- Aging Dates determine in which aging bucket balances will reside.
- Encounter Statuses:
- If running for balancing purposes, include all statuses.
- If running for A/R purposes, include Billed, Unbilled and Rebill.
- Month end balancing purposes.
- Work outstanding A/R.
- Balances to the following reports if all statuses are included:
- Monthly Changes in AR.
- Aging Analysis By Encounter.
- Aging Analysis By Line Item.
- Collections Insurance Aging.
- You can recreate AR from a prior time period to show the appropriate aging and bottom line AR total. However, you cannot reproduce the responsible party from that prior period. Current history status charges will display balances in the patient bucket.
