Adjustment Amounts Subcategories

The three columns that are grouped into the Adjustment Amounts subcategory all relate to the calculated Adjustment Amounts of the contract or contract exception. The values that display in these columns either come from the Charge Posting window where adjustments are automatically calculated by the application, based on the contract or contract exception information, and entered in the Adjustments column or the value is a calculation generated by the application. The two sections that follow explain where the values that display in each of the three columns come from and how they are calculated by the application, which enables you to understand how to compare the contractual amounts to the actual amounts. Understanding the Contractual Analysis Report

The Contractual Analysis report is a good tool to regularly audit your contracts and contract exception fee schedules. The columns on the report that enables you to compare the contractual amounts, which are maintained in the Contract Libraries of the application, to the actual amounts, which are paid by the payers, as well as the adjustment amounts that are created when charges and payments are posted. Report Filter helps you to create the reports that best suit your needs. The Report Filter allows you set up the specific criteria used to pull data from a patient's chart and to create the specific filters to be used for your custom reports. Using the Report Filter, you can create and generate a detailed patient and/or data specific report. Filtering Report Data

The Filter options enable you to set your report criteria, such as date ranges and statuses. The settings determine which data appears in the columns of your reports. The filter options that display depend on the filter data applicable to the report. Each filter you use creates a limitation of the data that is 'allowed' to display on the report. If you use parameters from Filter 1 and then use parameters from another filter option, such as Filter 2, only the data that matches the parameters for both Filter 1 and 2 display on the report. Setting Report Columns and Filters

All reports have columns and filters that you can use to customize the report data and format. You can modify the reports by: Adding and removing columns. Selecting different sorting and grouping orders. Selecting new ways of totaling the columns. Modifying the criteria used for each report that you generate, such as specific date ranges for a rendering provider. Because each report generates different information, the filter criteria available to you depends on the report you are creating. After you have modified a report filter to fit your needs, you can memorize it so you can run the report at another time. To open the Report Filter window, do one of the following: Select a report from the Reports menu. If a report is already open, select the Report Filter toolbar button.
