Select Report Columns

The Columns filter in the Report Filter displays a list of the available column names. You can select which columns to display on the report and their order. In the Report Filter, select Columns. Select the check boxes next to the desired column names and deselect any columns you do not wish to include. To change a column's position on the report, select the column name to highlight it, and then select the appropriate arrow to move the name up or down in the list. The columns in the list print from left to right, so moving a name up in the list shifts it further to the left of the report and moving it down shifts it closer to the right. Open Report Filter

Report Totals

Reports can include column totals in the form of sums, averages, or counts. The Totals filter option is located in the Report Filter window Settings List. Use the following table to help you set your report Totals filter. Report Heading Description Column Contains the heading names for the report columns. Note: If you select a column for totals, make sure it is also selected on the Columns filer so it displays on the report. Sum/ Average/ Count Determines the totals you want to include in your report. A indicates the information selected. You can select only one option for each column name. Sum: Total of all the numbers in the column added together. Average: Average of the column (the sum divided by the number of records in the column). Count: Total number of records in the column. Note: When n/a displays for an item, you cannot select the indicated total option. For example, n/a would display for dates because you cannot sum or average dates. Filter 1

The Filter 1 option in the Settings List contains most of the filter dates and statuses that you can base your report on. Filter 1 criteria creates a data "superset" on which Filter 2 criteria is then run against. Parent topic: Filtering Report Data

Setting Report Columns and Filters

Reports have columns and filters that you can use to customize the data and format. The filter criteria available to you depend on the report you are creating. Once you've set your report filters, you can memorize it (see Memorizing Reports) so the report is readily available at any time. You can modify reports by: Adding and removing columns. Selecting different sorting and grouping orders. Selecting new ways of totaling the columns. Modifying the criteria used for each report that you generate, such as specific date ranges for a particular rendering physician. Some common elements display in the Report Filter window for each report. For example, all filters have similar filter options in the Settings List such as Columns, Filter 1, Filter 2, and Sorting. Filter 2

The Filter 2 filter criteria works similarly to the Filter 1 criteria by applying conditions to the report information. Filter 2 also works in conjunction with Filter 1 by applying conditions to the data superset established by the Filter 1 criteria. While Filter 1 creates a superset of all available data, Filter 2 further defines the results of Filter 1 to determine which data is ultimately reported. Parent topic: Filtering Report Data
