The Filter 1 option in the Settings List contains most of the filter dates and statuses that you can base your report on. Filter 1 criteria creates a data "superset" on which Filter 2 criteria is then run against.

The Filter 2 filter criteria works similarly to the Filter 1 criteria by applying conditions to the report information. Filter 2 also works in conjunction with Filter 1 by applying conditions to the data superset established by the Filter 1 criteria. Depending on the report, additional filter options may be available which are used in a similar manner. For example, the Significant Events report contains additional Practices and Sig Events Msgs filter options. Select the filter option in the Report Filter window Settings List. Select the Open Folder . The associated Available/Included window opens. Note: If you selected the Include ALL records of this type in the report check box in the filter options, the Included box appears empty, but the system is actually including all records for you by default. The Filter options enable you to set your report criteria, such as date ranges and statuses. The settings determine which data appears in the columns of your reports. The filter options that display depend on the filter data applicable to the report. Each filter you use creates a limitation of the data that is 'allowed' to display on the report. If you use parameters from Filter 1 and then use parameters from another filter option, such as Filter 2, only the data that matches the parameters for both Filter 1 and 2 display on the report. The more parameters and filters you use, the more specific and limited the data is on your report. You can use Filter 1 on the Report Filter window to define the date range for which you want the data to appear on the report. Other options found on Filter 1 vary by report (e.g. Encounter Status, Charge Type, Appointment Status, Include/Exclude Unapplied Credits, Aging Dates, etc.), and can be used to include or exclude certain data accordingly. For example, if on the Appointment Listing report you select No Show in the Appt Statuses field on Filter 1, then only appointments marked as No Show appear on the report. The Filter 1 configuration allows you to use additional filter criteria, such as dates, for narrowing down the data on a report. Data must match all the defined criteria to appear on the report. Access the Configuration Options window for the desired enhanced report. In the Configuration Options list on the left, select Filter 1. The Filter 1 window appears. Note: The Filter 1 options available for selection are different on each report. Modify the Filter 1 options as needed for the report. When finished, do one of the following: To configure additional filters for the report, select the desired Configuration Options on the left. To generate the report, select the Refresh Report button. You can use Filter 2 on the Report Filter window to define additional criteria using any column on the report. Each column listed can be filtered using: Between Equals Not Equals Greater than Less than Like For example, if you select Great than and then enter $100.00 in the Self Pay Balance column on Filter 2, then only data that meets the criteria appears on the report (only patient balances greater than $100.00).
