Setting Report Columns and Filters

All reports have columns and filters that you can use to customize the report data and format. You can modify the reports by: Adding and removing columns. Selecting different sorting and grouping orders. Selecting new ways of totaling the columns. Modifying the criteria used for each report that you generate, such as specific date ranges for a rendering provider. Because each report generates different information, the filter criteria available to you depends on the report you are creating. After you have modified a report filter to fit your needs, you can memorize it so you can run the report at another time. To open the Report Filter window, do one of the following: Select a report from the Reports menu. If a report is already open, select the Report Filter toolbar button. Right-click on an open report, and then select Filter. Some common elements display on the Report Filter window for each report. Open Claim Status Report from Reports Menu

Before you begin Submit a claim request for a encounter. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Reports > General > Claim Status. The Claim Status report opens. The Columns filter in the Configuration Options list opens by default. Select the columns that need to appear on the report and select Refresh Report. The Claim Status report opens displaying the following: Claim status response date and time. Statistical overview of the claims (accepted and rejected), billed amount, and paid amount. Activity Detail Report

The Activity Detail report enables you to gain an overview of the charges, payment, refund and adjustment activity that has taken place in the system during a specified time frame. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Daily and then select Activity Detail. Note: This report can be enabled to use enhanced reporting functionality. For more information, see Enhanced Reports in NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Report Filter window, select the Info button to view the following information about the report: Logic: Returns all charges within the filtered date range and all transactions within the filtered date range. One line for each charge and one line for each line item of a posted transaction is displayed. The charges report against the primary payer on the encounter. Select Encounters to Search

You can select a specific encounter date or an encounter date range to include in the search. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Encounter History or Categories tab. Select .The Search Documents window opens. Select the Hide/Show Filters icon.The Look in: filters section opens within the Search Documents window. To select an encounter range, do one of the following: Select a predefined time period from the encounter date list. Filter Encounters on the Patient Chart

You can narrow the list of encounters on the Financial tab under the Patient Chart to display only those that meet specific filter criteria. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Financial tab. All encounters for the patient are listed in the Financial Information section. To view encounters based on specific criteria, select Filter. The Filter Options window opens.
