Adding Batch Info

You can add a charge-level Batch Info field to the Charge Posting window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. This field is used to enter a free-text batch name on each charge entered. The Daily Charges report is generated to include the charges with a specific batch name for balancing purposes. If you want to separate the charges you entered in the morning from the charges you entered in the afternoon. The batch name used in the morning is ABC nn/nn/nn AM where ABC is your initials, nn/nn/nn is the charge entry date, and AM indicates morning. The batch name used in the afternoon is ABC nn/nn/nn PM. You can run a Daily Charges report before lunch to balance your AM charges, and then run the report at the end of the day to balance your PM charges. While generating the report, ensure to include the Bt Info column on the Columns filter and Bt Info = Batch Name on Filter2. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preferences List on the left, select Charge Entry. Open the Patient Information Bar in Charge Posting

Before you begin Practice and user preferences must be set in charge posting to enable the Patient Information Bar. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Charges. The Charge Posting window opens displaying the Patient Information Bar. The Patient Information Bar does not display any information until a patient is selected. Charge Posting Window for Patient Information Bar Search for and select the patient and encounter to record charges. The information for the selected patient displays in the Patient Information Bar. Note: If you access the Charge Posting window from the Appointment Book or Encounters tab of the chart, the patient data automatically appears in the Patient Information Bar. Enable the Additional Provider Field on the Charge Posting Window

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Practice.The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preferences List, select Charge Entry and then select the Charges tab. Select the Addtl prov check box. Enter a name for the field to be added to the Charge Posting window.For example, Nurse Select one of the following: If the additional providers are set up in the Providers master file as rendering providers, select Practice renderings. If the additional providers are set up in the Providers master file as non-rendering providers, select All providers. Select OK. The Additional Provider field appears on the Charge Posting window.
