Adding Batch Info

You can add a charge-level Batch Info field to the Charge Posting window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. This field is used to enter a free-text batch name on each charge entered. The Daily Charges report is generated to include the charges with a specific batch name for balancing purposes. If you want to separate the charges you entered in the morning from the charges you entered in the afternoon. The batch name used in the morning is ABC nn/nn/nn AM where ABC is your initials, nn/nn/nn is the charge entry date, and AM indicates morning. The batch name used in the afternoon is ABC nn/nn/nn PM. You can run a Daily Charges report before lunch to balance your AM charges, and then run the report at the end of the day to balance your PM charges. While generating the report, ensure to include the Bt Info column on the Columns filter and Bt Info = Batch Name on Filter2. Enable the Batch Info Field on the Charge Posting Window

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preferences List on the left, select Charge Entry. View Charges from the Charge Posting Window

You can view existing charges of a patient from the Charge Posting window. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Charges. The Charge Posting window opens. Select the desired patient and encounter. In the charge ledger section at the bottom of the window, right-click to access the shortcut menu. Select Ledger Views. Select one of the following Ledger Views. All Patient Charges: shows all charges for every encounter and every payment/adjustment for each charge. The first column on the left displays the encounter number. The total reflects the sum of all charges and the listed payments or adjustments. All Encounter Charges: Shows all charges for the encounter you select and every payment/adjustment for each charge. You can select an encounter from the Encounter field or from the All Patient Charges. The total reflects the sum of all charges and the listed payments or adjustments. This is the default view. Activity Detail Report

The Activity Detail report enables you to gain an overview of the charges, payment, refund and adjustment activity that has taken place in the system during a specified time frame. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Daily and then select Activity Detail. Note: This report can be enabled to use enhanced reporting functionality. From the Report Filter window, select the Info button to view the following information about the report: Logic: Returns all charges within the filtered date range and all transactions within the filtered date range. One line for each charge and one line for each line item of a posted transaction is displayed. The charges report against the primary payer on the encounter. The transactions report against the actual payer on the transaction. Bad Debt charges and transactions are always displayed. Filtering Info: Charge Create Date is hard-coded and stamped by the system when the charge is entered. Charge Process Date
