Enable the Batch Info Field on the Charge Posting Window

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preferences List on the left, select Charge Entry. View Charges from the Charge Posting Window

You can view existing charges of a patient from the Charge Posting window. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Charges. The Charge Posting window opens. Select the desired patient and encounter. In the charge ledger section at the bottom of the window, right-click to access the shortcut menu. Select Ledger Views. Select one of the following Ledger Views. All Patient Charges: shows all charges for every encounter and every payment/adjustment for each charge. The first column on the left displays the encounter number. The total reflects the sum of all charges and the listed payments or adjustments. All Encounter Charges: Shows all charges for the encounter you select and every payment/adjustment for each charge. You can select an encounter from the Encounter field or from the All Patient Charges. The total reflects the sum of all charges and the listed payments or adjustments. This is the default view. Add or Modify Session Settings

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Tasks, and then select Session Settings. The Session Settings window opens. In Active Batch field select an existing transaction batch or select <Create Quick Batch> to create a transaction batch for the current login session. The selected batch is used as the active batch for all transactions (payments, adjustments, and refunds) you enter during your current login session. In the Service Date field, enter a preset service date for the current login session. The preset date appears in the Billable Date field on the Create Encounter window for all new encounters you create during your current login session. The preset date also appears in the Service Date fields on the Charge Posting window for all charges you enter during your current login session. In the Process Date field, enter a preset process date for the current login session. Create an Enterprise Batch Grouping

You can create transaction batch grouping using Enterprise Batch Grouping feature in NextGen® Enterprise PM. streamline transaction entry and batch balancing by using enterprise batch grouping. Enterprise batch groups are comprised of transaction batches from multiple practices within an enterprise. They enable users to enter, balance, and post transactions from multiple practices. In the Batch Posting window, you can create a batch grouping by selecting which practices the application creates transaction batches for. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Posting . The Batch Posting window opens. Select open menu icon, select New, and then select Enterprise Batch Grouping. The Enterprise Batch Grouping Maintenance window opens. Enter the enterprise batch grouping description, and the date fields. In the Practice section, select the practices to include in the batch grouping. To subgroup the transactions into an appropriate category, select the value from Transaction

Managing Batches

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, batches are sets of payment, adjustment, and refund transactions. You can create batches for each location, each day, or for each practice. For example, a batch can be created for a check-in staff to record all the transactions for the day. You can secure a batch or an enterprise batch grouping to a single user for security purposes. Any user without the appropriate security rights cannot access the transactions in the batch. You can also choose to remove an entire enterprise batch grouping from the list if none of the sub-batches are secured to the current user. You can use the Batch Maintenance window to manage batches for a given practice. Batch Status You can use the batch status for payment batches to denote the flow of line item balance. Determining the Active Batch You can only post transactions to a batch marked as active on the Batch Posting window. Open the Patient Information Bar in Payment Entry

Before you begin Practice and user preferences must be set to enable the Patient Information Bar in payment entry. You can open the Patient Information Bar in the Payment Entry window. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Posting. The Batch Posting window opens. Select and then select New to create a batch or Open to open an existing batch. The Payment Entry window opens, displaying the Patient Information Bar. Note: The Patient Information Bar does not show any information until a patient is selected.
