Daily View
The Daily view displays the appointment schedule for a single resource for a single day. The view displays the appointments that are already scheduled and time slots that are not yet scheduled on the selected day for the selected resource.
Use the Next Day and Previous Day buttons on the toolbar to move from day to day.
Use the Change Resources button on the toolbar to select a resource.
Following are the features of the Daily view:
- The color displayed to the left of each time slot indicates the assigned category and to the right indicates the assigned location.
- Scheduled appointments display the patient's name from the Description field on the Add Appointment or Edit Appointment window and the description for the scheduled Event.
- An icon corresponding to the Birth Sex selected for the patient on the Modify Patient Information window appears next to the patient’s name. Icons include Male
, Female
and Unknown/Undifferentiated
.
- Appointments that take up more than one time slot can display additional patient information in each slot based on settings selected in the Daily View tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferenceswindow. For example, Contact Preference & Primary Phone, Work Phone, and Encounter Number.
- Double booked time slots display each appointment side by side. To view up to three appointments scheduled at the same time, scroll to the right or resize the appointment column.
- Checked-in appointments appear with a check mark
icon.
- Checked-out appointments display in bold, if enabled in the General tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window.
- Confirmed appointments appear with a telephone
icon.
- A Patient Portal Enrollment Status icon indicates the patient's current NextGen® PxP Portal status. A different icon appears for each status, such as Not Enrolled, Pending, and Completed.

- The standard tooltip appears when you point over an appointment, if you select the Show category and location tooltips on appointment book option in the General tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window. The tooltip displays the following information:
- Appt Start Time
- Resource
- Category
- Location
- The custom tooltip appears when you point over a scheduled appointment, if you select one or more custom tooltip in the Tooltip tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window.
- The appointment that has status as Pending displays in blue.
- The To Do List appears on the right side of the window.
- The NextGen Inbox appears on the right side of the window.
