Add Appointments
You can schedule an appointment for a resource at a particular time and date.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
- From the main toolbar, select ApptBook.
The Appointment Book window opens.Note: To improve the response time, you can open the Appointment Scheduling preferences and select the Only show my preferred resources option under the Resources tab.
- In the Daily, Weekly Schedule, or Multi-View tabs, select a resource, date, and time slot to schedule an appointment.
- To add an appointment, do one of the following:
- From the Appointment Book toolbar, select Add Appt .
- Right-click the time slot and select New.
- Double-click the time slot.
- Enter the details in the mandatory fields.
- To select and link a person or patient to the appointment, select the open menu
icon in the upper-right side of the Add Appointment window and select the patient.
- Select a Referring Physician for the appointment.
- Select the open menu
icon and select Open Existing Encounters or double-click an encounter to attach it to the appointment.
Note: In Practice Preferences > Case Management, when you select the Allow encounter payers to differ when case is attached preference, you can attach an existing encounter to an appointment if the encounter's insurance differs from the case and appointment insurance. - Select the open menu
icon and select New to create a case or select Open Existing Cases to select an existing case.
- Select OK.
If any appointment conflicts occur, you can select a different time slot for the appointment.The Appointment Confirmation window opens.
- To complete the appointment, select Close.
The new appointment appears in the Appointment Book window.
