After you add insurance information to a person or patient's profile, you can add an authorization code. Some practices require that you attach an authorization code to a patient's chart before performing a medical procedure.
- In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu
and then select Authorization.
The Authorization Listing window appears.
- Select the open menu and then select New.
The Authorization Code Tracking window appears.
- Enter data in the following required fields:
- Authorization Code
- Effective Date
- Expiration Date
- Enter any additional information.
- Select OK.
