Add a New Referral to a Person or Patient

This feature is only available for practices that use NextGen® Eligibility Verification license. After you add an insurer to a person/patient's profile, you can refer the person/patient to a different provider. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu , and then select New Referral. The New Referral Entry window appears. Complete the following required fields Requesting Physician Referred To Entity Type Place of Service Enter any additional information, and select OK. Add an Authorization to a Person or Patient Profile

After you add insurance information to a person or patient's profile, you can add an authorization code. Some practices require that you attach an authorization code to a patient's chart before performing a medical procedure. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu and then select Authorization. The Authorization Listing window appears. Select the open menu and then select New. The Authorization Code Tracking window appears. Enter data in the following required fields: Authorization Code Effective Date Expiration Date Enter any additional information. Select OK. Modify Insurance Information

Modify Insurance Information Modify Insurance Information After you add insurance information to a person or patient's profile, you can view the insurance information in the Insurance Maintenance window. In this window, you can add new information or modify existing information. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu button and then select Open Insurance Information. The Insurance Maintenance window appears. Select the desired tab to update or add information. Select one or more entries in the following required fields. Requesting Physician Type of Service Enter any additional information. Select OK to save the changes. This feature is available only for practices that have a NextGen® Eligibility Verification license. After you add an insurer to a patient or other person's profile, you can create and issue an eligibility inquiry. Some practices require insurers to confirm eligibility before performing a medical procedure. From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Chart. In the Patient Lookup window, enter search criteria, and then select Find. In Matching Records, right-click the patient record, and then select Open.The Demographics tab opens in the Modify Patient Information window. In Insurance Listing, select the open menu icon, and then select Eligibility Verification. In the Eligibility Verification window, select one or more entries in the Requesting Physician and Type of Service fields. Select OK.
