Add an Eligibility Verification to a Person or Patient

This feature is only available for practices that has NextGen® Eligibility Verification license. After you add an insurer to a person or patient's profile, you can create and issue an Eligibility Inquiry. Some practices require a confirmation of eligibility from an insurer before performing a medical procedure. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu , and then select Eligibility Verification. The Eligibility Verification window appears. Select one or more entries in the following required fields. Requesting Physician Type of Service Enter any additional information. Select OK to save the changes. Request a Provider Referral Inquiry

After you add an insurer to a person/patient's profile, you can request a history file for all previous patient referrals from the insurer. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu , and then select Referral History. The Provider Referral Inquiry window appears. Enter the Requesting Physician. Modify Insurance Information

Modify Insurance Information Modify Insurance Information After you add insurance information to a person or patient's profile, you can view the insurance information in the Insurance Maintenance window. In this window, you can add new information or modify existing information. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu button and then select Open Insurance Information. The Insurance Maintenance window appears. Select the desired tab to update or add information. You can access the following tabs in the Insurance Maintenance window: Detail Detail - 2 Ins Cards Benefit Info Authorizations Referrals Elig/Referral Website External For detailed information about modifying insurance information, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Encounter Maintenance User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. This feature is available only for practices with a NextGen® Eligibility Verification license. After you add an insurer to a patient's or person's profile, you can refer them to other providers. From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Chart. In the Patient Lookup window, enter search criteria, and then select Find. In Matching Records, right-click the patient record, and then select Open.The Demographics tab opens in the Modify Patient Information window. In Insurance Listing, select the open menu icon, and then select New Referral. In the New Referral Entry window, select from the following required fields: Requesting Physician Referred To Entity Type Place of Service Select OK.
