After you add insurance information to the profile for a patient or other person, you can add an authorization code. Some practices require that you attach an authorization code to a patient's chart before performing a medical procedure.
- From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Chart.
- In the Patient Lookup window, enter search criteria, and then select Find.
- In Matching Records, right-click the patient record, and then select Open.
The Demographics tab opens in the Modify Patient Information window.
- In Insurance Listing, select the open menu
icon, and then select Authorization.
- In the Authorization Listing window, select the open menu
icon, and then select New.
- In the Authorization Code Tracking window, enter data in the following required fields:
- Authorization Code
- Effective Date
- Expiration Date
- Select OK.
