Online Practice Settings

Providers Master File

In the Providers master file, you can set up providers who offer a service or refer a patient for a service. You can set the access right for the Provider master file to read-only for user groups. The setting prevents the user group from modifying the master file. For more information on setting up rights and permissions, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise and see Rights and Permissions section. On the Providers List window, you can see the Rendering, Providers and National Provider ID columns. Rendering providers are indicated by a checkmark in the Rendering column. You can set providers as rendering on the Add/Modify Provider Information window of the Practice tab. The National Provider ID column displays the NPI number linked to the provider. Configure Optical Vendors

The Vendors master file enables you to create a list of manufacturers used in NextGen® Optical Management. CAUTION: You must set up the Vendors master file before creating a brand in the Brand master file. Open File Maintenance and select Master Files > Optical Management and select Vendors. The Vendors List window opens. To include the hidden items in the master file list, select the Include Hidden Items check box . From the vendors list, do one of the following: To add a new vendor, select the open menu button and select New. To modify an existing vendor, double-click the item to open it. The Optical Vendor window opens. On the Vendor Detail tab, enter the vendor information in the respective fields. Note: To hide the vendor in the vendors list, select the Hide check box. On the External tab, do one of the following: To add a new item, select the open menu button and select New. To modify an existing item, double-click the item to open it. Vision Service Plan and VisionWeb Interface Setup

The Vision Service Plan (VSP) and VisionWeb interface is used for entering VisionWeb and VSP orders before implementing NextGen® Optical Management. You can contact your VisionWeb or VSP representative to purchase the interface. You can set up the interface using the Optical Management tab on the Location Information window in File Maintenance. Note: The VSP log on information is no longer used with the new VSP API integration. You can continue to access the VSP catalog and set up the lab configuration for VSP laboratories after you log on to VSP with the username and password provided by Eyefinity. Master Files - System

The master files are divided into two main types: System and Practice. The System master files are shared across the enterprise; most of the data applies to all of the practices. The Practice master files are practice-specific. The System master files are further categorized by product. Viewing Master Files for a Specific Product

You can reduce the number of master files listed to only those that are used by a specific product. The products that you are licensed for display under Master Files underneath System and Practice on the File Maintenance window. When you select a product, the master files related to that product are displayed in the File Maintenance desktop area. For example, if you select PM and you are licensed for Chart Tracking, the Chart Tracking master files are included in the master file list. If you are not licensed for Chart Tracking, those master files do not display. You can search for a master file by selecting Ctrl + F and then entering the master file name in the search box.
