Globally Update Pricing in a SIM Library

You can globally update the pricing of service items in a SIM library. You can filter these SIMs based on a SIM or CPT4 code range, effective date, and department. The global update enables you to change the SIM pricing based on a percentage, a specific dollar amount, or a geographically-adjusted RVU. The adjustments can be rounded up or down. In File Maintenance, select Libraries > Service Items. Right-click the applicable library, and then select SIM Global Update . The SIM Global Update window opens. You must enter an Effective Date to determine which SIMs are updated. SIMs are updated only if this date falls between the SIM effective and expiration dates. To further specify which SIMs are updated, you can apply additional filters by: By doing one of the following: Enter a range of SIM codes to update the SIM codes within this range. Enter a range of CPT4 codes to filter for CPT4 codes in this range. Select a department to filter for SIMs associated with it. A department can be used

Add SIM Items to a SIM Library

After you have created a SIM library, you need to add service items and pricing information to the library. Select File Maintenance > Libraries > Service Items. From the Service Items List window, select the library to update. The Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. Select the open menu and select New. The three service item fields turn red. In the CPT4 Code field, enter a CPT4® code from your list of service items and then select Enter. The details for that CPT4® Code appears. In the General tab, do the following: In Eff Date, enter the effective date. In Exp. Date, enter the expiration date. In Non-Facility Price, enter the non-facility price in dollars. In Facility Price, enter the facility price in dollars. If you have more items to add, select Enter and repeat steps 4 to 6 for all service items you wish to add. Configure SIM Library

Open a SIM Pricing Template library. In the SIM Library Configurations section, select open menu button and then select New. The SIM Library Configuration Maintenance window opens. In the SIM Library Configuration Name field, enter a name for the configuration. Select Open Folder to select the SIM libraries you want to apply the configuration to Include/Exclude steps. If you want the SIM Library Configuration to be included in the SIM Pricing Template BBP - Auto Update job in the NextGen BBP application, select the Send to BBP check box. If you want the update to insert new service items to a library when they do not currently exist, select the Add items from SIM Pricing Template to SIM libraries if they do not exist check box. New rows will be added. If the check box is cleared, existing service items will be updated and no new items will be added. Create SIM Groups in a Service Item Library

Orders module charge posting also looks at SIM Groups which are set up in File Maintenance in the Service Item Libraries. You must first define a Service Item library, and add service items to the library before you can create a SIM group. Select File Maintenance > Libraries > Service Items. Right-click the Service Item library for which you want to create a SIM Group. The Service Items List window opens. Select SIM Groups from the list. Select the open menu button, and then select New. The SIM Group Maintenance window opens. Define the SIM Group ID and Description. SIM Group. This is a numeric or alphabetic ID that you use to identify this SIM Group. Description. The description you choose for this SIM Group. Service Item #. This is the list of service items contained in this group. Select in the Service Item #. Select the SIM ID to have the focus on that parameter. Put in the SIM ID you want in the Search Criteria in the Available pane. Select the blue Right Arrow to move the item to

Setup SIM Pricing Template Library

In the Libraries list, select SIM Pricing Template. The SIM Pricing Template List window opens. Select open menu button , and then select New. The SIM Pricing Template window opens. Enter a name in the SIM Pricing Template Name field. Complete the remaining fields. For more information on the field descriptions, see SIM Pricing Template Library Field Descriptions. Set the SIM Library Configurations that link the SIM Pricing Templates to the SIM Libraries. Note: After configurations have been set up, a green check mark in the SIM Library Configuration section > BBP column indicates that the configuration will be included in the SIM Pricing Template - Auto Update BBP job. Instead of opening an existing configuration to designate it to be sent to BBP, you can select the BBP column for the row in the SIM Library Configuration section or you can right-click the configuration, and then select BBP.
